That said, some have it better than others - a surprising number of people have phones that will not be getting updated to Android 15.

    Got Android 15 on most of the phones we have.

    OneUI 7: log video recording is probably the biggest addition. The useful AI stuff like chat translate was already in OneUI6. New UI changes is meh. Now the app drawer scrolls down. 🙄

    RealmeUI 6: other than the fake dynamic island, don't know anything else significant. Some UI changes are actually worse, like some transparencies made the UI less legible.

    FuntouchOS 15: don't know anything significant other than the AI editing in the photo editing app (which can be quite nifty, tbh).

    Overall, I dislike the iOS copycat (everyone, including Samsung) of dividing notification and control center into two separate screens. It's annoying. it's less efficient, and everybody is messing up the control panel design. Good thing you can revert back to the old style. But I guess without changing things around for the sake of change, then consumers probably won't be able to tell the difference between Android 15 and 14 other than going to the settings and see the number 15.

      I'm still rocking Android 9. No soup for me!!

        Also yes, both are Samsung and I honestly don't care how slow they are, because at this point I am past being disappointed about it.

            There's nothing lucky about this. This article adopts the noob "newer is automatically better" mentality. Those using Xiaomi's android 15 lost the ability to use sensible "old style" notification panel and are forced to use the ridiculous iOS like "new style" notification panel. That's quite unlucky.

            And everyone regardless the brand lost ability to use many old useful apps on A15 and that's unlucky too.

            Newer is newer, better is better. Don't mix those two different qualities. It would be like equating mass with volume which different quantities.

              Android 15-18 is good overall

                I got the update 2 days ago. And is not a big deal. Is actually worse than OneUI 6.1.
                Feels like a beta.

                  So 35.4% of voters are Samsung customers... Next year in April, you and those who bought a phone from the S25 series will be able to vote in a poll that your phone has not yet received Android 16😂

                    Still waiting for stupid OneUI 7 that was released 2 weeks ago and Samsung's garbage potato servers still haven't found the time to "seed" the update to my device. I've not seen such pathetic update release scheduling in literal decades and compared to Apple's same day release to EVERYONE this just looks like Samsung isn't even a serious company.

                      Finally got one ui 7 for me s24 plus. Not bad at all.

                        I'm still using a galaxy s9 USA version stuck in android 10.. gg

                          A few years ago i wouldve been in "updates are very inportant" camp but android is already mature enough that updates are very minor.

                          Android 15 big selling point is "AI" and I couldn't care less about it.
                          But i do wish that manufacturers would support devices for longer for security patches alone. Less e-waste.

                              Android is already stable like windows or mac ... Now with good cpu and gpu we need apps from windows 🤞🏻

                                      I wish I was on Android 15. I have a ZTE phone, my second one, and if you've ever owned one you know that the global versions of ZTE phones NEVER get Android updates. Security updates 50/50 chance. new Android version not going to happen I'm still on Android 13 and if I had known that I would not have bought a ZTE phone.
