Furkan, 28 Apr 2025I think Xiaomi Hyper Os 3 will be good im not complaining about the OS, but rather the cameras. ALL good/big/popular manufacturers use a healthy dose of AI.

As an amateur photographer, this phone interests me greatly. I used to use a DSLR with 35mm lens so I sort of know how to frame a photo at that focal length. The 35mm lens should produce the sharpest photos ever on a mobile phone. Most of time though, 35mm would be too narrow and, the ultra wide would be used. So in a way, the ultra wide will be the main camera. And if the ultra wide is so wide, it can be cropped with minimal loss of quality. But the most impressive lens is the kick ass telephoto and the add-on telephoto lens and that's what most people will be buying the phone for.

For me the x200 ultra would be a no. I don't like the choice they made with the 14mm ultrawide. Would have much preferred it to be around 18mm for more balanced focal length between the main and ultrawide. The ultrawide is often the main video camera on this phone and 14mm is too wide for video for me. If you switch to the main camera for video it's a bit too narrow for many situations. Also cropped photos at about 23/24mm are poor on this phone. Therefore overall I don't think it's worth the large chunk of extra money over the x200pro.
The x200s though I would consider. It's a nice upgrade over the x200 and it launches for 100rmb cheaper which is good. Better battery life, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, a better screen and wireless charging and a lower launch price than the x200. The only thing that would hold me back a little is the video quality of the main camera. It's quite oversharpened and not at the sme level as the Oppo Find x8/x8s/x8s+ imo (i spent an hour trying them yesterday). Still the x200pro mini has a nicer approach to video rendering with less sharpening whilst still retaining similar detail. Apart from video quality though the x200s is better than x200pro mini in other areas (especially significantly better battery life)
What I wish to see is for some manufacturers to allow you to adjust sharpness and contrast in videos even more so than hardware improvements. Why don't they do this?

I preordered a red Vivo x200 Ultra 16/512, last night. Shipping to the USA before 5/5/25 😁👍. I aready have a x100 Pro running on Origin OS. Been using it here in the states for about a year now. A couple things that are in Chinese that you can't get rid of or change the language of, but other than that... It's been a really good phone.

Microsd slot and 3.5mm jack will always be useful at any time. Now there is a 2nd generation that solves this problem. Various types of wired earphones have better advantages for 3.5mm jack. https://datascripmall.id/blog/headset-gaming/?srsltid=AfmBOoogVfJgJxOHA_Jgb9CQ3OvkB5G7XISsBfZsfB9hhMUnE2V-HTl8 And also the latest microsd can be equivalent to USB C A dual flash SSD 500mbps called Microsd Express https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-256GB-microSD-Express-SDSQXFN-256G-GN4NN/dp/B0DFQGVLYF

NFB, 27 Apr 2025When someone drives on a road in the opposite direction to ... moreOof, great arguments. So, you want a niche, unergonomic, bulky camera only phone, but most average consumers don't want that, like me.
I don't think I'm the one "driving in the wrong direction".
Also, in addition to complaints about the size and thickness, I've seen people complain that this new "Ultra" has smaller main and ultrawide sensors than its predecessor. Or people not liking Vivo's image processing, etc.
Along with it not being globally released (and no microSD slot or headphone jack) this doesn't sound like "the best camera device of 2025", and it's only april.
