iNet-x, 21 hours agoRemember it is just charger up to watts
You don't thi... moreThe 320 watts are needed to keep the charging speed at the same level as we're used to it at the moment because the whole battery is so much greater with its 10.000 mAh. It's not here to set new speed records in time needed to get fully charged.
Of course the 320 watts don't make it straight to the phones charging port. The 320 watts is the power which the adapter consumes at highest level (for only short time) directly from the wall plug. It's called power efficiency of the power supply which is in most cases around 80%, expensive ones can reach around 90%.
Splitting the charger with an adapter to use it on 5 phones simultaneously won't work because the charger (which has one USB out port) and charging protocol can only communicate directly with one phone a time. Putting an adapter on the charger would in best case lead to max 5V 3A (15 Watts) charging for each of the 5 phones because the charging protocol falls back to this max standard level for safety reasons.

Anonymous, 08 May 2025I'd say charging a 2500 mAh cell with 80W is quite fast.Remember it is just charger up to watts
You don't think that exactly that wattage is going to be used of course it is in reality maybe 50 or 60W..
You guys need to think about chargers included with the phone is same as when you building desktop pc and u want 1000W PSU to manage that RTX 5090 card so everyone buys above 1000W PSU to be enough wattage but it is NEVER going to be used fully unless you would buy 700W PSU which you will result cutting power
If you will have 320W charger means you can even get USB splitter and charge 5 phones at same time..
Each phone will take the amount what is set to and programmed never more

jiyen235, 21 hours agothe battery cant constantly recharge it at the same point. ... moreThat's what I mean too. And it's not the same as completely disconnecting the battery from the circuit so it's not used.

kdss, 22 hours agoThe question is how the phone consumes power. Is it from th... morethe battery cant constantly recharge it at the same point. Like how you would fill a glass, you cant keep filling it with water when it's already nearly full, you'd want to stop till there's a bit less and then fill it a little more again.
the phone stops it at 80%, the phone goes down 1% or something and the battery charges back up

jiyen235, 22 hours agoit's the same i think, ig at worst the charge goes 1% ... moreThe question is how the phone consumes power. Is it from the battery, and the charger constantly recharges it and keeps it at 80 percent, or is the battery directly disconnected and power is consumed from the adapter? In my opinion, it is more like the first one I described, and it is not exactly like the second one.

If it didnt work why would the phone charge 20% more? i think it's the same and works in that way.

People's idea battery capacity will only increase over time, people really need to get a life outside of phones and touch grasss, given how productive phones are as compared to laps and pcs

Seems battery tech has reached a tipping point after stagnating for awhile. A 10,000 mAh battery in a 215g phone is a very welcome development. It means Smartphones will finally have feature phone levels of battery life. But the 320W charging is just so much faster.

10000mAh sounds nice but idk if id need a 320W charger, 65W is enough for that but the most important thing is that the battery need to be able to be removable
