13 May 2025

nice ... very innovation

So in short, Samsung is killing the middle spot and there will be only 2 choices, regular and Ultra.

If you're in the UK, why tf would someone buy a s26 Edge for £1099 when you'll be able to get a Pixel 10 pro XL alpha omega supreme for the same price, or even better a Oneplus 14/15 (whatever number they go for) and save yourself hundreds? Seems like a no-brainer to look elsewhere, unless Samsung really push the carrier deals and just try to brute force with advertising...

Right now, S25 and S25 Edge are the same weight. This means S25 Edge is a way to get the bigger screen without the weight penalty. Usually, the bigger phone is heavier.

What I‘d like though is the compact variant to get to less than 150g. Because S25 is already pretty close to that, reducing the battery to 3500 mAh might be enough to achieve this goal. Or they keep the 4000 mAh and use the yearly density improvements like they did with the S25, which would mean less than 150g with 4000 mah could be achieved in about 3 years. Though I think if the S25 Edge succeeds, it wouldn’t be a big risk to go with the first option. It would still have better battery life than a mid range Xiaomi with 6000 mAh running HyperOS 2.0 anyway.

                                Snapdragon 8 Elite / 12 GB RAM
                                Geekbench Run #1 - 9547

                                Geekbench Run #8 - 9279

No big thermal issues, it seems. :D

The main camera of the Edge is a bit better than the Plus, and the 10MP telephoto is useless.

The only real downside is the battery capacity, but there is a solution: silicon-carbon-based batteries.
They just need to use it in their whole S26 lineup.

It makes sense to ditch the Plus for the Edge, especially if they use silicon-carbon-based batteries and at Plus previous level's price.

People buy plus series for long battery, these people killing the phone that meet user requirement.

Edge series battery is equal to S vanilla series.

Can't understand the strategy behind this.

Unless they adopt silicone carbon battery technology, then no deal on the Edge.
