13 May 2025

Why Samsung though that edge will selling better than plus? Edge ( smaller battery, just two cameras, more expensive) is more appealing just because it's thin???

Anonymous, 21 hours agoWhy would they replace a flagship phone with a midranger? If the Edge is midrange then the Plus is also midrange 🙄

As a Samsung user since 2023 (s23 Ultra and Z Fold 5 and also recently a Xiaomi 14 aultra for the amazing cameras) I don't disagree with that move. i know for a fact that most people don't go for the plus models so much. The idea is that they want a smaller phone like the regula one or they could just pay a bit more and get the Ultra. The plus is good, don't get me wrong, but it's kind of the middle child that doesn't sell as much as it's siblings.

As a personal recommendation if you want a great Samsung phone is to buy last year's flagships. Technology is basically at it's peak right now and you can save a lot of cash by buying previous phones. Especially because Sammy promises 7 years of updates. The only innovation is from chinese brands but you have to accept HUGE camera bumps or UI's that are more appealing to the Chinese market.

It's not killing the plus, it's called killing Samsung itself.

Plus was the best version. So after my s24+ will wait for s27+ next. If plus dies might as well go for ultra.

So, in favor of thinness they'll make the "Plus" version worse (garbage battery capacity and missing cameras) so more people will buy Ultra instead. Slow clap. I hope they lose a lot of sales.

uwsamsung should make s26 an iphone pro competitor, not a budget device. it should be a small s26 ultra without spen and a better 3x camera.

Obvious decision, and an obviously bad one.

It doesn't make sense to abandon the Plus line
it sold 6 million units last year
this S24 EDGE won't sell the same amount as the Plus line
if this Edge sells 2 million units it will be a lot...
the public's reaction already shows that this S25 Edge doesn't make sense, especially at this price 😒

Bot10Exists, 21 hours agoso, dogshit phones with undersized batteries, terrible ther... morehow are the cameras worse this gets the fairly well liked 200mp main from the ultras
also phone volume does not add significantly to heat dissipation, in fact id expect it to have better thermal characteristics than the 6.2'' s series, since it has a significantly larger surface area. the battery is what it is.

so, dogshit phones with undersized batteries, terrible thermals and performance, and even worse cameras are just a regular thing now

That's only because Samsung produces so little of the plus variants. I remember searching high and low for the S23+ just a few months after launch and every store I called up said it was out of stock and were more than happy to upsell the S23 Ultra to me.

It also doesn't have a tru differentiating factor to it. The regular S is the cheapest entry to the S series, the Ultra is the best of the best and has an S-Pen. Meanwhile the Plus is just a bigger "Regular" S with a price difference that doesn't justify the upgrades from the regular S.

the plus version is still good for me, why replace it.
