Hey, why there are so much comments about haters and lovers?
Please bare in mind we are all consumers not the share holder or director of Nokia.
These test are commenced by every manufacturers, ok?
Just there are different ways of testing and QC & QA.
Who don't agree? :)
My only concern is, are 100% Nokia phones tested these ways before
packed and sold to us? If yes, i think i will never buy Nokia again.
Example, the buttons are already tortured so many times, the life
of it will be greatly shorten.
I am using N82, my left speaker has no sound after using for only 1 mth. Then sent to repair and it became normal then lost again after another mth. Then I just knock it lightly agaist the table and guess what? Haha, I'm natural Nokia phone technician...
I am still not really convinced with Nokia's testing even after seeing these photos.
Well, my opinion for these post is Nokia is releasing new products to catch up with the demand and compromised lots of testings.
What is the MTBF of Nokia phones? Any answer will be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Cheers,
- A

My 6630 is 4 yrs old and yet i spent only $15 servicing it so far, just for one battery plus one service fee when i slipped the phone into the bathtub accidentally.
Dropped it several times once on the road, yet not one single fault so far. Even the keypad hasn't lost its paint !!!
Truely perfect :)
6630 the first 3G bluetooth phone with stereo speakers is truely a symbol of Nokia's craftmanship

Flames, 22 Nov 2008johndru, when are you going to wake up from your dream?. No... moreapparently, i own myself a nokia. N82 for that matter. anyway, i just want to stress out my opinion that GSMarena is a bias review website. :) Nokia can boast the symbian s60 OS all they want but surely all nokia phones doesn't look good among other brands. i know nokia fans will detest but deep inside they know. ;)

Motorola RAZR takes fire, literally; saves man’s life
Posted by Zach Epstein on Nov 21, 2008 11:08 am
Despite being significantly more expensive, Apple’s iPhone 3G is constantly gaining ground on the Motorola RAZR’s top sales position in the US. It has tons more features, more functionality and completely trumps the RAZR in terms of wow-factor. One thing the iPhone won’t do however, is save your life. Ronald “R.J.” Richard was doing yard work on his 5-acre property in St. Tammany, Louisiana when something struck him in the chest right above his heart. Richard described the impact as “a punch in the chest,” and initially thought some debris had been kicked up by his lawn mower. When the 68-year-old reached under his sweater and removed the cell phone clipped to his overalls to see if it had been damaged by the impact, a single .45 caliber bullet dropped into his lap. According to the report, someone had fired the round from woods roughly 1/4-mile from Richard’s home, without malicious intent, and inadvertently struck the man in the chest. The cellphone and case, which Richard doesn’t ordinarily clip to the front of his overalls, took 100% of the damage from the bullet and the man walked away without a scratch. Sure an iPhone might keep you entertained for hours, but a RAZR will take a bullet for you. Hit the read link of a video report.

WOW, very impressive. Nokias do seem to be a bit more durable lately. Sony Ericsson was "sturdy" for me, but lately Nokias seem to be coming though.. except for their service centers here in Toronto, that's another story.

4 all those dat keep complaining abt d software: I am a programmer, I have developed quite a lot of applications in C++, C#, Java n some other languages. i've developed software for windows and linux as well, and i am now getting into d whole android thing. Now, from my experience i can tell you, testing software is not that simple. In fact it is quite hard. You can hardly tell what the customers may try to do with their phones, it is really hard to guess... i am sure nokia tests their units, but it is not that simple, they need user feedback to know what to fix... the next thing, a nonsmartphone is not that complex, hence the reason nokia regular phones are pretty stable... but a smartphone is not that simple... Actually, take any operating system. the fact you are accustomed to have viruses in Windows does not mean it's OK... linux as well as mac n other UNIX based systems don't have those problems... And yet Mac also has some issues, as well as linux... The possibilites for bugs are endless, and the more complex a piece of software gets, the easier it fails... So the fact nokia smartphones not dat smart at times is just proof of how smart they are... i know, a mad oxymoron, lolzzzz... But as many have said, they keep updating firmware and they have proved to get their phones working RIGHT! Trust me guys, I know what i'm talking about...

Dani , 22 Nov 2008Ok Ok some comments in here can be accepted like johndru's ... moreHow can we accept their statements when they aren't backed by solid proof or facts???. Nokia phones obviously have less flaws than the ones made by other manufacturers as evidenced by their sales.
You can't argue with facts. Crap is crap even if it's made by Nokia or SE or Samsung, it's just that Nokkia produces less crappy phones than the others that's why you guys are under the illusion that gsmarena favours it.
