tomakali, 07 Oct 2013Can you list 10 things what Lumia 1020 CANT DO???10 Things Lumia can't do:

                1) No FM Transmitter
                2) Any web browser other than IE (which is another can of worms including poor HTML5 and JS performance)
                3) No file manager.
                4) No movie support for anything other than basic Windows codecs.
                5) Apps must be brought to the foreground to close them. So if the app hangs, you almost always have to soft reset.
                6) No USB tethering.
                7) Hardware button wasted because it is hard coded to use BING which nobody uses
                8) No ability to change the default program that opens with a given option / file format.
                9) No way to sort/categorize files.
                10) Ring tones and music have the same volume and there is no way to change them separately. Vibrate on silent mode only vibrates ONCE which is useless. On that note, NO EQUALIZER.

Then there are the show stoppers for business...no VPN support, no S/MIME support, worse Exchange support than Android (come on, it's even a Microsoft product!), advertisements RIGHT ON THE HOME SCREEN, no privacy features, cannot delete files with an unknown extension, cannot upload/email videos, music, or pictures to anything but Skydrive, no notification center, etc. etc....

Do you get the point yet? Windows Phone is now the oldest Smartphone OS on the market dating back to the Windows Mobile days and it still lacks basic smartphone functionality!

Doesn't bother, as using Nokia N85 since more than 4 Years & no issues reported till know excluding one time battery change.

Waiting for upgrade it to decent phone e.g. 4.3 or 4.5 inch high quality display(AMOLED,IPS,IGZO,SLCD3 or may be Super AMOLED+) with at least 2GB RAM, minimum 3,000mAh battery & decent quad core power efficient processor, minimum 16GB of ROM & 64 to 128GB expandable memory via SD slot etc.

Hope some mobile manufacturer will make this kind of phone ASAP.

tomakali, 07 Oct 2013Nokia had just took almost 10% of the Global marketshare f... moreActually the 10% was only in the UK and France. Globally they are at about 4% and that was before the acquisition which had a negative impact, with many users openly stating now MS "own the show" they are moving ot IoS or Android.

It is sad Ive used Symbian from 2003-2013 because still use N8 for clubbing, its the only device I trust to take videos and handle the bass in nightclubs due to superb microphone..It also has the xenon for clubs/pubs bad lighting then use it to phone taxi home,,you can trust battery as well to last its amazing how little Symbian uses (2mA in standbye).

Does this mean no more low class phones from "Nokia"?
Really Microsoft is going to give away that market...? Nokia was a disaster on smartphones sales (because WP8) but was not that bad on non-smartphones..

                                      This is truly disappointing.

Nokia had just took almost 10% of the Global marketshare from 2%

Now Nokia has >70% privileges on using WP OS + Amber + GDR3 + blue = Nokia can easily take 25% of Global Market share in 12months.

like it or not... its gonna happen...
