Before leaving Symbian phones like 808, 700, 701 and 600. These phones has 1ghz processor and 512 mb ram.
Atleast, it should be treated with android 4.1 with no other OTA updates. It is sure that nokia symbian platform is dead, but the owners of nokia left in tears.
In other words, Nokia fooling everybody, i own nokia bcoz i trusted it, but now they are focusing on windows phone that means they looking only thier profit.
In other case, if the nokia fans like me own a lumia..who can say they end that platform and goes to any other OS'es. It may comea true if microsoft nokia acquistion fails.
My final words..Nokia cheats symbian owners, the only thing they have to do correct this is..they need to unlock the bootloader of these phones. It may help us. Or nokia can just do port android or windows (i don't care) to my 700 and similar phones. I just a matter of time and they save all nokia users who put trust on Nokia mobiles..remember one thing Nokia...without users like us..you will never gonna win the battle..

I have moved from an Nokia N8 to a Blackberry Z10. Honestly, from all modern mobile phone OSes, BB10 comes closest to Symbian. Like Symbian, QNX (which is what BB10 is based on) is made to run great even on slower hardware. It's as open as Symbian (I can use the phone as USB storage device, MTP device, and even access its storage remotely via network share out of the box), much more secure than Android, and runs much smoother on a dual core phone than Android does on a quadcore phone.
It's really a shame that BB has priced their phones out of the market, as they are perfect modern replacements for Symbian.

GoMobile, 07 Oct 2013What I'm trying to say is that WP8 is still fairly new, sym... moreWindows Phone has *had* its chance. It started out as Windows Mobile and once had 70% of the smartphone market. Then Microsoft decided to kill all backwards compatibility by releasing WP7, and then they did it again with WP8. So don't give me that "Windows Phone is only 3 years old" crap. Developers avoid WP like the because we have already been burned twice.

This should be expected. Same goes for the expected 1520 and everything else; It won't be what we long time Nokia fans expect. I think the only way to see this is simple; It's no longer Nokia, it's Microsoft. What Nokia was to us then is simply what Samsung is today; making communicators.
