Low-ends don't, mid-range sometimes do, high-ends usually only get one update (except in Samsung which is the only one that really supports their droids).

What do you say about "reputable" manufacturers who left their perfectly capable hardware stuck in GB or (at best) ICS? Do you grade them above or below Apple?

Nothing like a Samsung article to attract the iOS trolls lol

The main difference between Samsung's android updates and apples iOS updates is that apple develop iOS in house and release it once its ready to all devices that'll support it whereas with android, Google develop the os and release it to the nexus line Samsung then have to modify it to work on their devices properly add touchwiz then seed it globally to the users once its stable and reliable.... This is why there's a delay.

You want quick android updates get a nexus simple as that.

Yeah.. that is fine for the low-end market, but the high-end market (which Apple is in) does *NOT* tolerate such despise from the manufacturer.

That is the difference between "real premium" and "wannabe premium", one has future support the other is treated like the overpriced crap the manufacturer knows it really is.

              Region lock here we go!
Well, at least other manufacturers could take an hint from Samsung and upgrade their top-range phones (timely) as well.

Someone saying he prefer iphone because even it older model gets iOS7 but android phone doesnt. Hi, do you know 3 year old Android 2.3 has most of the feature than iOS 7 ? Each and every update from android 2.2, 2.3, 4.0, 4.1 is a masterpiece.

AnonD-171976, 08 Oct 2013when it comes to update i prefer iphone over android, even ... moreIt is true that Apple keeps updating their old models. But even though older models do get the update it's not a full version of the firmware as features are left out. Also older versions of android still have more features than new versions of iOS so you still wait more for less.
They ONLY thing to brag about is the fact that your old devise actually runs the latest firmware version but again thats only in paper.

when it comes to update i prefer iphone over android, even tho lots of people mock ios but old model of iphone will still receive update. Iphone 4G released early 2010 still receive ios 7 update. I believe most your 2012 android phone (or early 2013) not receive kitkat update :p
