This is REAL innovation, much more than octa-core cpu, 4k recording and stupid FHD display on a 4.7" device.
Go Motorola!

This concept is very much possible. The mother board will look like Bread board. We have assembled computer's why not assembled Mobiles & Tablets. Good going Moto.

i am will be the first to buy. It is excellent idea n it makes our phones suits our wants. if this concept is real. it makes a better device as every companies are strive to make their device specific. samsung goes for the display, leica for the camera, sony for the handycam, dolby for the surround system, google for the os,intel for the processors. It sounds crazy for me!!

This will lead to serious counterfeiting of technology.

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2013That's your professional opinion as an engineer, right?
/sam not engineer, and this idea might not harm consumer in terms of simple stuff like camera/storage..
but developers will struggle alot.. we will end up with low quality apps/games.. because developers will have to consider the enormous differences between phones.

I'm more into it for it's lifespan. When new hardware are released, we can simply upgrade CPU/RAM/GPU without any hassle. Making it a high end device.
I'm all for that, no matter how much it costs to buy; since saving money isn't my main aim with this phone. ;)

Most people are so stupid that they always get phones on contract anyways which is more expansive than getting a separate sim and phone. Yet those same people support phobeblocks because they think it saves them money. Such irony

VERY STUPID IDEA (as cool as it seems).. think about your experience with PCs for a moment..
currently almost all phone manufactures try to push many components within same phone device while keeping it small and portable as possible!
Almost All latest android phones share a bit similar characteristics when it comes to CPU/RAM/GPU..
the flagships phones already bring us the latest technology... and there are many companies compete to bring us new juicy phones.. with different sizes and different consumer targets.
now with this idea.. the device will be bulky because components will waste a lot of important space just to make components stick to each other...
it will make android environment even more partitioned... developers will struggle more to make apps/games more compatible..
when it comes to android manufactures, they already gave us more options, just pick and choose between many different handsets. do you think that holding a brick phone for whole year worth's the little ram/space upgrade you will make in next year?? think about it...
