Still not got the update but my question is i m not having wi-fi connection only 3g connection will update works in 3g or it requires wi-fi has anybody updated through 3g

Got the update here in da #Philippines around 8:20pm. All you guys have to do is clear data for Google Services Framework and then check for updates. If its still not updating just repeat the process. Had to do it about 3 times then voila! Kitkat goodness without the transparent bars... :-(

The update launched immediately in morning when I switched on my mobile phone (using 3g connection). However, you wouldnt be able to download it via 3g. You wuld require a wifi connection. So what u need to do is switch off yur mobile data connection, connect yoru device on wifi & then hit "back button" on the system update screen. Then, click "Check again" button while ensuring that the wifi connection is now established & running. You should immediately see the movement in the download bar.
Downloaded Kitkat in morning. No translucent bar but this functionality is built in so a nova launcher beta Installation will bring you that function.
Performance wise, nothing much seems to have changed since Jellybean 4.3 but too early to call. Maybe some expert tech guys could update us on that.

So why are you complaining. Its just been 2 days since the release if kitkat on nexus 4, stop whining and either wait for the update like everyone else or clear google services framework at your own risk.

2 hours ago i updated and finaly i made it look like nexus 5,i mean if install the nova launcher beta(wich is one of the best) you can choose transparent status bar and it is changeing the complete look of the device!!i love how the screen looks bigger and clear:))))

The 4.4 update is very similar to 4.3. Only differences are icons, lock screen, and few wallpapers. There are no features as that of nexus 5 no OK Google from home screen and home screen launchers.

I bought N4 from us, used it in Hyderabad and currently I am in Doha, Qatar. I still didn't get the update I am waiting like hell for thebupdate . can someone let me know on what basis are they sending the update.
