Just make it as smooth as the HTC One. snapdragon 800 is already overkill for today's apps anyway. 2k screen vs 1080p? Sorry, but i'll go with the lower more reasonable resolution but better battery life anytime.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2014Actually 32bit can handle exactly 4GB of address space.Impossible
You can put 4gb of RAM but it will only see the 3.25Gb
and the rest (3.25gb and above) will be wasted
a 32 bit technology will not go beyond 3.25 because it reached his limits.
Did you see a 32 bit PC that can address 4gb RAM?

Exactly. 2GB of ram is completely enough for htc one. I never filled up my, never felt like I miss ram in my htc one. its not a slow bloated galaxy. 1080p for 5 inch is also reasonable. Even with snap600 htc is one of the smoothes android phone. all i see is that people nowadays are only looking at the specs and benchmarks but they are too blind to see that it doesnt mean that its not all what decides how the phone performs. the only concern is the camera. it should be the same technology but with 8mp. Add and sd card and the beast is here. but I think they will put the 4mpx again...anyway I am going to buy it.

FYI just giving 64-bit CPU isn't enough, the OS, Android, needs to support 64-bit too...
So no matter how much RAM Samsung gives 4GB with 64-bit Exynos Octa-core CPU won't be enough, the OS will still use the 3.5GB or less RAM

I hope a mini version comes out fast, fed up with the 5 inches. 4.3 or 4.5 inch with same specs with sell like hotcakes

Thoes who says that GS5 will have Snapdragon 800/805
Will you should refresh your memories again
Because non of Snapdragons can run a 4GB ram device because it's a 32bit processors (only 3.5gb ram)
So Samsung might come with their own 64bit processor despite being an Octa/Quad-core
I just hope it'll come up @22nm and 720p @120fps recorder

In other words, specs are not everything after all...

Well, for me the specs are not so uninspiring. I am a htc one owner, switching to it after a long line of galaxy S phones(1,2and 3).the overall experience is much better on the one, is faster, smoother, and the colours and the screen are gorgeous.
The big downside is the camera. In normal light is awfull, just awfull. My wife's s3 mini makes better pictures.
Even if i'm not a big fan of taking pictures with my phone, there are certain momens you want to be able to take a decent picture of, and i unfortunatelly can't.
So, if there will be the same 4mp crap in the next Htc, i'll pass and go back to sammy. Or to sony or whomever would offer you an overall balanced experience in every aspect.

Oh, come on... a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 with 2GB of ram is not enough for a phablet?

AnonD-199407, 03 Jan 2014Before anybody says anything about HTC M8 specs the Samsung... moreCan't have 4gb because s800/5 is 32 bit technology
so it will probably be a 3gb RAM.
Max allowed to 32 bit is 3.25gb RAM because it has reached his limits.
to be able to have 4gb,chipsets should be 64 bit

And again losers,losers and losers.
Those specs are already in the market several months now.
By the time M8 will hit the shelves competitors would have already launched New 64 bit specs
Too bad for HTC

AnonD-166595, 03 Jan 2014Only 2GB this is not fair! The workers are useless.even sam... moreCome on, dude. HTC Sense UI doesn't eat half of the RAM like TouchWiz UI. 2 GB is enough for this beast. Remember, this isn't a Samsung Galaxy.

It is more inspiring that Galaxy S5 specs. Sammy have good marketing and for reasons unknown to me they manage to outsell everything else with their unoptimised phones. They can put 12 cores, they can put 8Gb RAM, but that won't change anything, their software will still be slow. But sadly you can't sell "good battery life", "optimised software" etc, but you can sell X RAM X CPU to people who has no idea what does it mean (but it should be good, right?).
iPhone with 2 core CPU and 1GB RAM works much faster and better than Galaxy S4 with 8 cores and 2GB RAM and than Note 3 with 3GB RAM. Same with Lumia phones. So whats the point of those specs?
I switched my S3 to Lumia 920. Despite lower specs it works much, much faster, has better camera etc. And it is actually cheaper. I just can't understand how Samsung is no.1 phone manafactuer now... It is almost sad.

Before anybody says anything about HTC M8 specs the Samsung S5 will also come with a Snapdragon 800, Samsung will probably do the same as they did with the S4 Snapdragon 600 & clock it higher to around 2.5Ghz & stick 3GB or 4GB of ram in the S5 aswell, so those expecting the S5 to have a Snapdragon 805 well your gonna be disappointed as this won't see the light of day until well into 2014 & be reserved for the Note 4.

The Ultra Pixel technology is good. But unless HTC increases the Pixel count, this technology is of no use of HTC or the consumer. An 8 MP is a must to show comparable results with other flagships.
