I will definitely buy this if it does not have washed out viewing angles like the Xperia Z and Xperia Z1. I really hope they fixed it! :S

                        why sony why
1080p is more than enough for a phone.

I believe the Sirius is Z2, whereas Canopus is the Z Ultra without Cellular capabilities, which should be Sony's new mini tablet.

release the z2 mini at same time with z2 with same specs but 3000mah battery(better if more),720p screen, removable battery(if possible)and thinner bezel(if possible).also dont ditch sd slot and put softkey button rather than onscreen.

Wasn't it part of Sony's strategy from last year that in order to prevent leaks of unannounced models, they will not be announcing new mobile devices at any subsequent CES tradeshows in years to come?

AnonD-180680, 06 Jan 2014You are as wrong as you can get. Firstly it's not just bla... moreIt's only black that enable significant energy savings. Otherwise the pixels are still on, and they're still less efficient than LCD. Averaged out over the typical smartphone screen, AMOLED uses more power for the same brightness, and that's the bottom line. Split hairs all you want, it doesn't change that fact.

Do you dispute that PenTile saves power? In any case, it's hardly a very good argument in favor of Samsung's displays to insist that they use an inferior subpixel layout so that the screen won't start burning out in a year.

[deleted post]Yeah, with your username of S AMOLED, I'm sure you're very objective about displays.

Seriously dude, AMOLED is not that high tech. There's a reason no other company uses it--it has many drawbacks that, at this time, are not really worth it.

Actually, the codename Sirius (a star) and Canopus (also a star) might give us a hint. Sirius is brighter than Canopus and Canopus is the second, so maybe Canopus is the rumored iPod-like device?
