I Do like iPhone. But this is just ridiculous. Can't Apple provide iPhone 4S for the same price. Come on 4S itself is 2 years old. Even surveys show that iPhone is expensive in India than any other country. This is not dumping ground for you Apple. This is 2nd largest mobile phone growing market, don't under estimate Indian market.

There is a huge market in India for phones in this price range(The numbers may even aggregate to the entire population of some countries). All those working class who may be from IT,Medical,Govt sector,Banking,or other service sector.. are preferring phones phones in this price range. Even college students are buying in this range only. Thanks to those credit cards and their interest free EMIs.
So in such a situation except Apple, almost all others are having a variety of New phones with latest specs in this price range. Since Apple can not produce a new one in this range the only way is to bring in the older one to capitalize something from such an unavoidable huge market.
So those who buys it can tell others that they bought it 3yrs ago and are waiting for Iphone6... Ha Ha ha..

Il prefer buying nexus 4 at that price, even galaxy S3 or note II can be bought at this price by adding 1000 or 2000 Rupees.Apple thinks India is a dump yard but its not.

almost at the same price with the "new" old iphone 4 (8GB) in indonesia since last year.
Believe me, iphone getting popular in indonesia since BBM launch officialy for both android and ios. back to 2009, i feel like i'm the only one iphone user in my company, but right now almost 30-40% percent of my company employee using iphone 4 just for BBM (most of them are old BB user).

Im surprised by all the comments here. Clearly many people have difficulties to understand that most smartphone sales are for normal casual users nowdays.
When someone says you can buy nexus. Moto or whatever phone with that price, do you guys really think that for example that 40 year old woman really care if she can buy better specs phone. C'mon :)
I undestand its hard to understand that there is world (very BIG world) outside of these mobile blogs :) 95% smartphone byers doesnt care anything what you guys just said :) they buy smartphone which gives them good first impression and are appealing for eyes, thats it.

8GB isn't a lot, but a lot of my friends still use the 4 WITH iOS7 and it seems to work for them. Yes, they notice it's slower than my iPhone 5, but nonetheless it's enough for them. Let's just see who this will appeal to.
