I'm quite disappointed. Does this mean Moto phones will no longer get quick Android updates, they won't come with simple Android experiences? I thought google should give Motorola more of a chance, they have only overseen one generation of phone and they didn't give it a chance to sell well with mostly US-only releases.

Why do I suspect Google is trying to Samsung happy and getting out of the market? Would the recent big deal with Samsung have anything to do with this? Would Samsung want Google to stop competing with them via Motorola, in return for all of the new cooperation, Samsung making only Chromebooks etc?

MS might be perplexed. They must have thought its gonna be a 3 sided OS+OEM competition : Apple, Google and them. Now Google exists phone manufacturing business becoming the MS (of desktop) equivalent of the mobile world.

Aha so that explains the flops like Moto X. They had no clue on how to win the market from the others as demonstrated by the overpriced Moto X. This deal maybe good for the brands but the layoffs are going to hit american jobs hard very very tough for them. That sucks.

[deleted post]I like Motorola and honestly I think it's in better hands with a bunch of commies from China than Google. And talking about countries bullying others, look at the beginning of your sentence.

                      That is really so sad..
                      Yesterday, it was Nokia.
                      Today is Motorola.
We lost the smartphone's world founders beside the already late Ericsson.
                      Who left?
The crappy plastic manufacturer or the show off most expensive and overrated brand??

I started losing my interest in this lovely phone mania.... eeh.. It was.
