f/1.8 aperture is cool, definitely noticeable and possibly more important than detail, but it has been done before in 13MP sony cameras (Lenovo K900, Vibe Z).

i really don't like apple but any thinking person will favor a f/1.8 10mp camera over a 13 or even more mp f/2.4... increasing the aperture has really big advantages not only in low light

Apart from processors, this year its going to ne about camera modules. All companies could do better over the past few years and now with the tech in place nowni think is the time that we get a little closer to top end point end shoots, will never have a patch on dslrs but closimg the gap will be a smart move. Looking forward to a good year for photography

I was there (not on the moon) and so was lots of Apple fanboys, the topic of which was better, N900 or 3GS, was very hot on the web that time. I had a few symbian phones before that and even a Symbian touchscreen thing but i conider N900 my first smartphone, i guess you came abord later.
oh well, i guess you had to be there.

[deleted post]It was real when i had Nokia N900, iPhone users would come to all kind of forums and tell us that 5mpix was a gimmick, led flash was useless as it only destroyed photos, and dual led was a braindead gimmick (yes N900 had dual led, not truetone though) and the display? 800x480 on 3.5 inch, how terrible, noone needed more than 320x480 on a display that size!
iPhone always users keep defending what they have at one moment in time and are not open to evolving hardware before Apple is the one to bring it. While im definitely no android fanboy i respect their ability to embrace evolution.
Remember all the things iphone users didnt want, because noone needed them.
- Multitasking, very undesirable.
- Autofocus (this was rare but it happened, as iPhone 3G had fixed focus)
- LED flash
- Higher resolution (the most common, in 2010 320x480 was the holy cow of apple fans, vigorously defended way below the Downs level)
Hey apple fans who remember those days, we told you it may come back to haunt you one day didnt we? 800x480 on a 3.5 inch doesnt seem so overkill now does it?

Contract deals are just the way for people to buy a new phone quickly thinking it's somehow cheaper to afford monthly.
