That aside years ago when Smart & phone were two separate words and PRIOR to Nokia going from strength to strength and Apple was just a fruit.....
Patent trolling reminds me of web domain registering so individual JOHN DOE came along and registered say BRADPITT.COM etc, it was ruled then they had NO right etc, to that domain
This is a car company and emergency services... it shows what some will buy to hold others to ransom
Apple should feel perfectly at home in a court of law…. again

Yippee! This is the best news this year. What goes around comes around. Apple totally deserve this. They started all this and now it comes back to bite them in their own backside. When you stick your hands in a wasps nest in a busy room don't exprect only those around you to get stung, you will too, as Apple have now found out the hard way. ROFL!

But capactive touch screens were used elsewhere, so them patenting the idea of using it on a mobile is lame patent IMHO. As I said, it's like seeing wheels used on cars, trains, and bikes, and going out and getting a patent for using them on roller blades.
2) Multitouch, likewise, was not invented by Apple. I saw demo's of multitouch in 2003, with pinch to zoom and everything. Again, they were just the first to put it on a phone. It was an obvious idea, if they didn't do it then someone else was going to, the technology was being born at that time.
