b_man, 24 Feb 2009ok..this was the issues that we actually have to go thru fo... moreSo the almighty company, with the greatest resources in terms of mobile phone development, can't figure out how to make a decent housing for a phone made of steel or other materials? Probably we can expect so much from the company which spent over 4 years to offer its first touchscreen 3G device.

99% of the time I DO NOT take photos using my phone, hence the number of pixels on a phone's camera is not, and will likely never, be the factor for me to consider a phone, because no phone's cam can match any DC's cam...like my Canon G9, in years to come.

Though did the almighty brand really started to put camera on a phone? Did the almighty brand "initiated" the needs for a camera phone? Vs. certain number of people, through market research, indicated they wanted / wished to have a camera on a phone? I'd bet our professor would have some answers for the 4-years old kid here.

Despite the fact I HATE the almighty brand, with its sometimes run-out-of model number but at the same time keep releasing new model number strategy, as well as "if not proven successful by others (iphone, HTC, Moto Razr) I won't make one" strategy, I certain admire how the company has been so successful to lure followers, especially those who on one hand complain so much about the company is ripping its customers off, at the same time praising how best one of its phones can be...

Somebody was trying to develop a buying guide for phones, it listed questions like camera, internet connectivity, etc...though 2 important questions somehow got left out:

1)How much can one afford
2)How is the voice quality

If a phone was designed with a price tag to rip customers off, how can it be the best phone? Again our great professor...who seemed to loose his cool again by betting with....(I ain't Christian or anything, though I find myself difficult to use dirty language at anytime, despite how others treat me...) probably have some answers for us.

Anonymous, 24 Feb 2009Let's see who wrote the following: "its easier to rememb... moreok..this was the issues that we actually have to go thru for the last 7 0r more days...

issue 1: "nokia products come in cheap plastic"

      response to the issue:
they are using plastic because its cheaper.thats to cut cost.and recently, nokia is having problems developing their products in terms of steel casing.as i have mentioned, this was an issue in the e71..it turns out that it was also an issue in the 8800. this did not came from my theory alone..got it from my customers first hand.

issue 2: NOKIA: do they really care about their customers, or do they just want to increase their sales?

      response to the issue:
yes, nokia cares about their customers....But ONLY up to a certain point...and this point is if they have given their customers that feeling that the customers have aquired what they really need and what they want to gain customer loyalty. in the first place, if nokia and other CP companies would have not introduced to us "camera on a phone" we would not be thinking that we "need" it. these cellphone companies make consumers think that it is better if we get an 800 dollar package that can allow us to "capture moments" and "connecting people" at the same time making it look like the best bargain in the world!! turns out that you pay 800 dollars for a phone that gives us ONLY a feeling of what a digital camera is. we dont need this kind of stuffs but since the trend sets this pace for consumers, we tend to have this feeling that we need it. question...who sets the trends,is it us or the makers?? prove to me that your not a 4 year old brat by answering that question.

issue #3: "Nokia puts consumers first before everything"

      response:
this issue...its really sad that people like you believe that companies put customers first. if Nokia, Samsung, LG, or any other cellphone companies were to make a list of thier top 10 most important things..i bet my D*CK on the line that customers is not the first thing on the list. these companies came to the market to earn. if they put the customers first, then why do people have to pay so much just for a d@mn phone. yes i have to admit nokia did pull off something on their latest n86, but i bet the price would reach the ceiling. i guess if nokia really cares about their customers...or you...they would never even price it that high...but did they consider your pocket,NO!! its global crisis, for cryin out loud!! and they still bombard us with this so called Cellphones in a very expensive price tag. do you still think they care for you!?

this comment should have been for the N86.but because i have to do some explaining, i even have to bet my D*ck just to prove a point.so im just going to say that the N86 is going to be one of the best phones that nokia have ever produced..

b_man, 23 Feb 2009to summarize everything...nokia and other companies are onl... moreLet's see who wrote the following:

"its easier to remember a phone model if you have heard it already.for old people like you who easily forgets,it will be easier to remember..the reason why they release new models is because they want to make people think that they are releasing new models(implies "upgrade")"

"ok...this is whats really going on..nokia is not being to greedy or anything..nokia just wants to cater the wants of different people."

"reapeting the model number makes people remember it easily"

Hence the 4 years old kid here, who can only figured out a professor just lost his temper and started to use inappropriate words with special characters, thinking a 4-years old kid can't figure out the inappropriate words being used, is really confused as if the author is trying to say the almighty brand is NOT being greedy, while having the goal to squeeze out every $ possible from its customers.

Seems like the professor couldn't figure out the intention of the 4-years old kid here...being sarcastic about the purpose of the almighty brand to keep releasing new phones...new model names or not, to rip people's $ off with little or minor changes.

At the same time, there seems to be a bunch of die-hard fans of the almighty brand who believe the company is No.1, and shall be No.1 4ever, where everybody should use the handsets from the almighty company...whatever the almighty brand does is correct, whether repeating old model numbers or releasing new models, or justifying the use of (cheapy) plastic on the almighty brand's phones is the best thing that can ever happen...

yeah...8mp, wifi ready, 28mm angle lens....yeah..truly is amazing...for now...if you want the best picture quality...ill get myself a lumix instead..or a DSLR...cellphones is just a waste of money..you spend 800 dollars just to have a gadget that can "act-a-little-like" a laptop, camera, and cellphone...just get a VAIO laptop, a LUMIX, and 80 dollar cellphone...quit wasting your time on spending on these phones..as they keep on releasing new models every day...i bet they are already planning on something new...most probably an N97,e78, 5900....etc.

this phone can change the aperture at F2.8/3.2/4.8

very similar to Digital SLR camera

              Q:what is aperture?
A:the size of aperture is control by the diaphragm, it can control the amount of light entering the image sensor/film

              object in bright light :
the size of the aperture is decreased

              object in dim light
the size of the aperture is increased

N86 can use different size of aperture

              object in bright light :
the size of the aperture : F4.8

              object in dim light
the size of the aperture : F2.8

                Shame on you Nokia!!
Why do you think if you put a slightly better camera to the N85 than we will accept that as a new phone? What about the crap plastic housing?
No wander people are abandoning Nokia! Nokia is going on the path of Motorola.

                  N86 can change 3 different aperture ,F2.8/3.2/4.8

                  which is really great

cause it can control the amount of light reaching the image sensor with it aperture

quite good ! i think it can capture a great image!

Anonymous, 23 Feb 2009I was asking the professor how can a company survive "witho... morelet me give you an example of a company that puts themselves first..the creators of the legendary Playstation...SONY...yeah they care about their customers by giving them the best their is in the gaming world...but did they even consider the fact that these video games makes people lazy and removes them reality?? no they did not!! they dont care if GAMERS get drowned with all the game console they come up with..instead of worrying about their customers they insistead to make more Playstations units...even got to the point of making it as portable as a cellphone...point is...they dont care what happens to people..as long as its not trespassing legal laws...same goes for nokia..they dont care about their customers. they only put this "CUSTOMER CARE" things to make people think that they are being prioritize..yes, nokia prioritizes their customers during their operation since people processing is part of their operation but their "CONCERN" is limited only upto the point that they dont loose too much money..another example that i can give you is Apple.during the release of the 1st gen iphone, there were so many bugs that all customers that bought that unit got really pissed.so Apple gave them a promise that they will upgrade their software to reduce bugs on the iphone...whats surrprising is that they will be doing that for free!! sounds like they are reeeeeaally concern for their customers right?? but they did that because they are losing customers..they are not getting any patronage because of their lousy software...thats why they have to do such "HEROIC" act to make people think that they are important, which i think is the truth...but what do you think is the reason why the customers are important?? thats because they want to earn more "customer loyalty" to get atleast a portion of the market share in the CP arena..yes they may loose millions( but i dont think so) as so many americans bought such a lousy CP but they were looking at the end part..everything revolves on profit...

have you ever asked yourself why their are "low-end" and "high-end" CP?? because they want to increase their profit margin by catering to the needs of the "not-so-updated" or "tight-on-the-budget" people.SEE!? its not all about "connecting people" they just have to connect people because thats what CP are suppose to do...and that is where they EARN...to make it easier for a D*mb f*ck like you understand...the first part of creating business starts with profit in mind and ends with profit...every single move nokia,SE,Samsung,motorola,LG,Apple...etc,people pay for it...do you get it or is it to smart for you handle!? flash news for you buddy, what you learn in school is not even close to reality..yeah you will be needing some theories in the real world, but once your out in the field, you will soon realize that there is no better equipment that will help you survive the business world except for EXPERINCE!!

However that also decreases the amount of light going into the lens. That leads to a slower shutter speed, and that means shakier pictures. It will be interesting to see how nokia does with multiple apertures, but generally, sticky with F2.4 would be optimal
