Anonymous, 07 Apr 201464bit is not that much of a beneficial especially when you ... morei know 64 bit is useless and not needed for the next 2 years . But since apple has done it , the Whole market( Manufacturers ) wants it now, otherwise they wont be able to market 32 bit SOC. 64 bit is all about marketing...
And besides everyone is forgetting that these A53 and A57 not only are 64 bit but also brings in newer Arm instructions in form of V8 and will be much more power efficient and will bring extra performance.. So its not entirely useless. you can see the performance gain apple's A7 chip . the dual core at only 1.3 ghz is so much powerful..

AnonD-192043, 07 Apr 2014I've been waiting for Qualcomm to use Cortex-57, but I don'... moreBecause they had to trade off years of optimizations to start fresh just so the package can say 64-bit.. There is no android 64-bit kernel for ARM, the system won't even have over 4GB of RAM. Just throwing away all that optimization for a marketing ploy.

i never said apple innovated i said apple moved to 64 bit so fast that everyone was surprised . now the market ( for marketing purpose) demands 64 bit . So Qualcomm had to come up with 64 bit CPU . Qualcomm is kknown for producing their own custom core in high end like scorpion , krait core .. but this time they did not had enough time to come up with their own and that is why they are using directly stock Arm core ..

the other 64 bit chips are also stock ARM chips

Lex, 07 Apr 2014Ah that makes more sense, it did seem weird that they would... moreThe other significant reason, even if I didn't have contacts to rely on to know what they are upto, is the fact that custom core license is the costliest out of all licensing options with ARM. So it would be a waste for them to buy that and not use the license, would make for a bad business RoI if they didn't.

Musaib, 07 Apr 2014i already have 64bit processor in my iPhone 5s .. lolIt doesn't matter, since there is no software out today or anytime I the near future that your 64 bit chip will take advantage of, also your phone does not have enough ram to support 64 bit software, so having a processor that supports 64 bit software is a moot point as it does not have enough ram to run it. Another isheep falling for Apples marketing machine.

I think Qualcomm is a little scare from the rise of Mediatek catching up with their octa-core SOCs. Similar performance at 1/2 or 1/3 of the price of a Qualcomm chips. However, I do agree that it's a little early announcing 810 and 808 when we have not seen a phone with the 805 yet. Kind of killing its own brother before birth rather than fighting against the real enemy.
