AnonD-168288, 07 Apr 2014I am not so sure, I have friends who are at Qualcomm braggi... moreyup apple introduced 64 bit quite early this resulted in Qualcomm ditching its old plans and their own 4 bit custom core will take time . But since they are the monopoly they need to have 64 bit . so this is a gap filling measure to use Arm cores directly . i think we will have custom 64 bit cores by 1h 2016 in galaxy S7 .

Will be interested to see what they come up with on the custom side post Krait.

I am not so sure, I have friends who are at Qualcomm bragging about what they supposedly have lined up in terms of custom 64 bit cores. There were even job posting for that.

This must be an interim solution. The real deal is late but they are definitely working hard on it in that case. They better for their competitive advantage sake.

If these Snapdragons are not due until the first half if 2015 at the earliest, then it seems the A7 is not one but two years ahead of the competition!

I also am wishing it would power the Note 4, but unfortunately, the article says it will be available next year

All of this year's flagship phones just came out with Snapdragon 801 processor and yet Qualcomm already has the Snapdragon 805 in the market and it just unveiled the Snapdragon 810. This company knows how to make customers feel crappy about their new phones. Thanks for coming out with a new processor every 2 minutes Qualcomm that extra .10% performance is really helpful :)
