Just one thing that I need to know. What on earth would you do in your fone that you would need a 64bit processor for. Tell me isnt the x86 architecture qualcomm Soc's enough for this. I mean quad core 2.3 or latest 2.5 Ghz is well enough for any gamer.
      Just a thought.

Even you know that most of the OEMs cared about 64 bit processors in mobile phones only after Apple introduced it with the iPhone 5S. Why there was no 64 bit processor phones before the iPhone 5S? The answer is, no OEM cared about it. The logic is clear here, and it is a fact. No matter how many times you deny this, it will remain as a fact.

Just android fan who is not an igno... moreyou are so wrong about processes. as long as there are new apps and new games available, there would always be a need of more powerful processes and a 64 bit processor would always be welcome. Think about the speed and agility with which the processes would be completed, which before would take minutes would now take seconds, now seconds would take micro seconds.

Turned the world upside down again??? The only thing they ever did was expand the app market.

Yes. Knowing that everyone was heading towards 64bit cpus so they made sure that at all costs even if it's less compatible they did it first....wooooooo....I'm so impressed.

Finger print scanner that has already been used more than once and was going to be used by others anyway....Wow....so impressed again......
There is also a huge different entirely in the shape, form, and function of the buttons that play into that. So what apple's is somewhat better. It's not miles ahead.

Samsung playing catch up to apple????? I think I lost braincells just reading that.

Protocol, 24 Apr 2014You can't deny it. Apple made 64 bit processors popular. You mean you cannot accept that everyone was heading that direction already.
And that Apple did it because they knew that. So they did it in a less compatible way to be first.

The 64 bit architecture is the way of the future..Apple, again, has turned the mobile world upside down with its hardware advances.

It might not be evident given iOS7, but Apple will tap its full potential, along with the Touch ID on iOS8.

Take a look at how the Touch ID works on the Galaxy S5 & then see how it works on on the iPhone 5s. It isn't even a fair comparison. Just another example of Apple leading the way, & Samsung playing catch up.

Still the problem of software support remains. 64-bit x86 CPU's have been used in desktops/laptops since 2003. but most of the software remains 32-bit. So beside breaking 4GB RAM limit I see no benefit of it. And since even Windows 7 scales perfectly, and works perfectly on 1GB of RAM, I think putting more than that in mobile OS is utter BS.

Technically speaking Apple only did it because they knew everyone else would be rushing to get it.
And they did so in a less compatible way to make sure they could claim first.
Now that they have it I'm sure it pushed others to want it a little faster, but overall...Not much faster than already.
