I'm currently using Sony Xperia ZL.
Really tempted to buy the HTC One M8 until I saw this ZL2.
Specs on paper looks decent for 2014 standards.
But the only possible deal breaker for me would be the thickness of it. 10.8mm? Kinda disappointed with this because 2013 and 2014 you can jolly well see phones which are less than 10mm/1cm. Why Sony why?

Look a lot like ZR. Well, bezel is still smaller than the original Z. I guess the waterproofing and the larger battery that make it bigger and than original ZL.

Agree! Should be ZR2! Not worthy successor of ZL2 due to bigger bezels

de-volution of phones. lets make them bigger with same screen size. 7 cm was not clumsy enough, lets add even more width

Meanwhile, au SOL25 follows KDDI's serial name for smartphone line-up. Their naming convention should be like this: carrier brand (au), manufacturer (XX), smartphone with LTE capability (L) and product series number (00). SO stands for SONY and 25 is the next product series number of their line-up after Xperia Z Ultra SOL24.
