Wow. So iPhone didnt have these features till now? Amazing!

Apple's alibi. Blame the devs for copying features from Nokia (camera apps) and others', not us.

AnonD-134749, 19 Jun 2014Apple is not following its own principles. I hate this and... moreActually this is much more in line with Apple's original philosophy of iPhone being the hub of a varied ecosphere.

What a lot of bashers never understood is that the iPhone, through its ecosystem, means that one iPhone is never identical to the next. It is unique through its combination of apps, and accessories. This ecosphere is made possible purely because there is the least amount of fragmentation in models.

Now developers will have access to the APIs while Apple maintains its emphasis on security, I can only see the iPhone and iOS platform becoming better than ever.

it's still kinda useless if Apple still doesn't allow third-party camera apps to be launched from the lock screen

Good idea. Keep the simple interface for people just want a simple interface but allow developer to design more function for those that needs it.

Until a 3rd party comes up with a functional app at which time Apple will take those settings and features and incorporate it into iOS9.

How about full screen (16:9) photos, apple?

Good news. It's not a bad phone but the camera controls are a joke, this way people get more possibilities, not every iPhone user is a simpleton.
