Nokia = Symbian. When Nokia killed Symbian for Win OS, they were dead. Nokia, Please bring Symbian OS.

Make sense. Windows Mobile can scale down to sub-$100 devices so there is no reason to use Android on low-end Nokia devices. Don't know whoes stupid idea was it in the 1st place.

Never WP for me, 17 Jul 2014I will never buy Windows phones. Can you hear me, Microsoft? I don't think Satya care since he is a cloud and software guy. He will put focus on developing X-box games, apps, software & cloud computing.

I predict he plans to sell-off hardware business such as X-Box console, Surface Tablet, and of course Lumia Smartphone.

Neuron, 17 Jul 2014Bring Back symbian The best indeed +1111. Still rocking with my Nokia E5 since last 3 years. Best phone with battery back up for 2+ days. Used only Nokia Symbian phones for last 12 years.

AnonD-56158, 17 Jul 2014Nokia X was a failure. It would have succeed if nokia have ... moreOnce Nokia were taken over by MS anything to with Android was doomed. I think everyone including Flop realised that for Nokia to survive they needed to embrace Android and he could no longer defend otherwise. Hence, why MS took over. Now he can kill it with his true paymasters all along blessings publicly. What I didn't expect was 18,000 more redundancies. Flop must be so proud for achieving his goal of making Nokia unique. He single handedly as an inside stooge at Nokia for MS destroyed them for MS. Nokia are unique now alright; unique for the highest number of redundancies in the mobile market place! Congratulations Flop, you and your paymasters can all celebrate your great success at the expense of over 20000 jobs lost in total.

                      NokiaX was stillborn anyway.
Most people doesn't want that Metor/Modern UI, whether it's running on AOSP or Winphone.

And why should someone choose Microsoft Android fork, when there is so many choices for Android, when they don't want anything else from M$.

The only good side of this is that there won't be another Nokia Android. The downside is everything else about this! 18,000 people will be unemployed by this. Hopefully some of them can be integrated into other roles, but that number is still way too high! What the hell are they thinking?? Severance package be damned, that's still bull!
