I am a developer myself and its impossible for a professional to switch to another platform. It will take quite a lot of time.
Windows is growing for sure after their OS went free for devices below 9" Display. But their target is to capture around 30% market share till 2020 which is quite possible and seems like happening.
Those people who actually used Windows once they love it but the problem is that there are quite few devices available on market that is also the reason all Nokia Hardware will now target Windows only.

the only way to boost nokia phones sales is to make a 100% android phone cuz probably its the no 1 hit in the world.. making the nokiaX series is a bit bad idea but cutting them off is worse, knowing that nokiaX devices are starting to evolve into something big ... I just dont know why they slip it away... lumia phones are one of the lowest sales till now.. I felt terrible for the thousand workers..

All they need is to boost Windows Phone not Android that is Google's job. And Nokia sales are high since Microsoft bought it. Nokia is surely going up.
Nokia X was just an emergency backup if Windows doesn't go well but Windows is moving up now.
So now they are shifting all their hardware to Windows specially budget Windows where Nokia have always been on the top to deliver the best entry level phones.

I always knew from the first meeting with the Nokia X that it's a bad idea, forget it runs Android OS, it's a forked version. not the real stuff
It didn't even support Google Playstore, how would they produce a phone with an OS that it's fully signed by the Manufacturers of the OS (Google).
The OS is the major reason for the bad return. Sorry Nokia, next time, pls Partner with Google if U want customers to enjoy buying an android fone from you.

Not an unexpected move to tell the truth but the cynicism of MS is so damn high because i remember when they bought Nokia they said that no Nokia employee would get fired and that all of them would work for MS and now BAM! 12,500 employees fired just like that. If i were Nokia i'd do the impossible and try to sign a contract with google were they would be the no 1 manufactures of the nexus line of phone because since there is no more Nokia now but only MS, they could easily start over

What ms have done they will suffer this but the worst thing is that we have to wait till 2016 all these monkey activities will be end .Nokia will start from 2016 its just name of nokia .We miss nokia for its services and devices .wp is a dead os .people regret after having wp. 18 months are remained its good ..We can expect something from remaining nokia ceo mr. silasma from 2016 .

Windows Phone needs a quick boost and current Windows Phone production is too slow they need more phones in market so switching Nokia X2 to windows was the answer.
why to waste 18000 salaries to promote Google?? Why not invest anything to promote Windows???
They were running Android just as emergency backup in case if windows doesn't gain traction but Windows is gaining traction very rapidly now after Windows 8.1 so its time to switch X to Windows too.
Lumia line up was a bit expensive than Nokia X so now Windows compartment will also get cheap.
Now Nokia is pure Windows Phone. I love Windows more than my BugDroid I use

i think microsoft has lost it.Their windows phone is not doing well so is their Xbox one .Sorry microsoft stick to computers cause its because of you a comapany as good as nokia is behind .So microsoft if you guys havnt learnt from project kinn that your most of the ideas are bad!!I mean they are not bad but they are worse....

It's always been about Microsoft and it's agenda with Nokia and Nokia's Los of focus and the graceful degradation and exit we are noticing very painfully.
For people like us it's our Nokia, for Microsoft it's a name to be changed to an R&D department and plain statistics. Worse it's just a business move!

I beg to differ. The over 28000 Ex-Nokia workers should file a class action suit against Stephen Elop. He is the one that killed Symbian and Harmattan (while the latter started to gain momentum and the former still had the majority o/t market). He single handedly destroyed nokia and is the ONLY one to blame for the MASSIVE jobs lost. He destroyed a household name in mobile technology ALL by himself.
Why? Because he had ulterior motives to become CEO of M$ (which obviously failed) and because he (as ex-M$ employee) wanted to "punish" Nokia because Symbian destroyed Windows Mobile (Sorry, I was only following orders). His only accomplishment in corporate history will be "That mole that destroyed Nokia!"
If I ever meet that creep I know what I gonna do!
What these fucking morons are doing is disgusting! Instead of doing "filantrophy" Bill Gates and company should KEEP these people's jobs! I call for a worldwide embargo against M$!

It doesn't have real multitasking, multi window support, USB OTG functionality, peripheral expansion ability, nor even the basic file management abd not to mention less number of apps. Windows phone will always remain 3rd or 4th os in smartphone
