Eventually both the CPUs would command more or less a similar real estate. It is all about which corner you are leaning towards in the design triangle, area? power? or performance? Each of these attributes on their own are not sufficient to tell you how good a design really is.

Snapdragon 810 are just Stock ARM cores. Chinese discount chip makers are using the same cores in their next chip designs.
Which basically means that Qualcomm is going to compete with the low-end market, instead of high performance flagships. They have been using Krait for 3 years already and its downright pathetic compared to the A7 and Intel's new cores.
Nvidia, Apple and Intel are the new high performance designers.

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2014Well don't know for a fact that Exynos 5433 is 7 bit or not... moreMy estimate is that the rumoured Exynos 5433 is a 64-bit chipset because according to that rumour it's supposed to be based on ARM v8 SoC (with the Cortex-A57 and Cortex-A53 cores) which is ARM's 64-bit solution.
This could mean that Samsung might announce a 64-bit Note 4 version (using Exynos 5433) and a 32-bit version (using Snapdragon 805).
But of course there could be a twist to the above tale. We shall only know on 3rd September.

The thing you need to realize is Qualcomm historically is a "Radio" communications company, not a CPU/GPU company.
Their leverage didn't come from the CPU or the GPU themselves, it was due to the LTE support which other major players were lacking and the overall efficiency with which they put those two things (Radio + "Computer") together.
The other players have always been strong on one of the fronts (Samsung was always in their game, Nvidia had something to show with their Tegras) but they just lacked that advantage in the Radio front.

However most people don't realize that s 600 ands800 are basically the only time Qualcomm had any large leverage.
Even the Hummingbird cpu in Galaxy S3 was part of what's called the Exynos line now.

So we now hear the 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 has just been put into testing and still nowhere near market-ready, and won't be until 2015.
At the same time we hear/read a Note 4 version will come with a 64-bit Exynos 5433 chipset after two weeks.
Both chipsets are based on the same ARM v8 SoC with Cortex-A57 and Cortex-A53 cores.
All that means that Samsung must have achieved a clear lead and massive leap over Qualcomm on the 64-bit front ... if the Note 4 processors-related rumours proved correct on 3rd September.
No wonder Qualcomm is offering Samsung a discount on the Snapdragon 805 for the Note 4.

I would love to have a phone with these specs...including the 6.2" screen. My current phone has a 6.44" screen, so this would even be a little smaller. I don't want to go below 6 inches though.
