MOON, 15 Aug 2014It'll be a massive performer.. but is that for smartphones?... moreIts more to do with cooling. It wld hard to provide enough cooling for K1 with a device the size of phone.

CPU seems on par or slightly better than tegra K1.
while GPU is slightly inferior to tegra K1

AnonD-183154, 15 Aug 2014Qualcomm needs a QUAD core to compete with Nvidia and Apple... moreApple and Nvidia is custom design CPU core.
It is basically like Krait core vs A9 core.
Krait core are created to compete with A15 but the base design is A9 core.
While this Snapdragon 810 is basic design from ARM without any customize of the core.

Beast specs! 4GB RAM should be standard for highend phones in 2015.

But I'd say wait till the SoC after 810. Qualcomm was hit unexpectedly by Apple's 64-bit CPU, so they didn't have time and used stock ARM chips in 810, with the SoC after 810, they'll have time to really tune them and create Krait cores, now those will be unreal!

so many comment criticize about 6.2" display, can't they read its just a prototype to test the performance of the chipset, its like a concept car, u really think they will put it into mass production & actually selling them?

And qualcomm gave up then switch to arm cortex big.little.. while samsung exynos already use it long time ago

                                  This time vote samsung exynos

It really depends on the architecture. Qualcomm isn't ready with their custom 64-bit architecture, that's why they're using standard ARM designs until their own custom 64-bit architecture is ready. This is only their stopgap solution for now.

There is no end to it. I think snapdragon 801 plus 2 gb ram on a efficient platform is enough
