that is exactly correct. please decrease the cost of the phone otherwise no growth for Microsoft and nokia in India

WP8.1 is amazing. Android 4.4 is a bit stale now, and it's been years since any real improvements have been added. The Lumia 830 will run circles around the MotoG for years to come.

i was so looking forward to this being my first windows phone after the now ancient htc touch. totally disappointed with the price. it would have done good at $250

The w... moreDont you know what site yo are reading? Chipset and benchmark is king here, if you dont care much about those things you are in the wrong place. Same chipset = same phone.
By the way, the performance obsession around here is a remnant from the old days, like 2011 and earlier, when performance was a real problem for smartphones, hopefully they will soon realize that those days are long gone. Just wait a few days and watch how the Xperia Z3 will have its chipset listed as a disadvantage like this: "Cons: Chipset is not Snapdragon 805".

I don't think Microsoft knows that with $430 one could buy a one plus one for $250 which is not midrange device or a lg g2 and remain with some cash. No one should buy this

But I don't want WP to die (even I'm Android user), competition is good for consumer.
IMHO, WP is good. But good is not enough. Competitor (iOS & Android) are doing it better and better. Microsoft has to do something or they will lose quickly.

If you people want a phone as cheap and has '8 mp' snapper, front cam, snapdragon 400, 720p screen, thinness and all, go for a xolo windows phone, or micromax. they are even cheaper than your bs moto g. a phone without even a proper service system in india. if you're after build quality, looks and that amazing 10 mp camera with OIS, which is miles ahead of anything in that price range. go for this 830. otherwise even a 730 with 6.7mp f/1.9 camera and 5 mp front camera can suffice. in my opinion, 730 is the real moto g competitor. it will most probably be priced at or around 15K.

too big screen and price. Nowdays every company sells just low end devices with "small" screen (4,3 - 4,7"). I'm WP user but I'm thinking to buy new I phone because WP don't have decent device with 4,5" screen...
