In addition, I must agree, its really fun playing with quality games such as Need for speed undercover, Assassin Creeds, Time Crisis, and Flip5 Air Hockey - with my friends using the patented MultiTouch function, and the stunning list of available games goes on. I used to have lots of Symbian smart phones in the last 2 years. Yes, sure u can get lots of free games from lots of free sites. But ultimately, majority of Symbian games or Apps that are free, are NOT actually Quality games. Yes, they were free, but most of them were basically boring/useless games or Apps. Logically speaking, u pay for what u get. Just my 2 cents worth once again.

Simply put it, the main strength of an iPhone is its prestige, UI, design, best of class audio/iPod capabilities, and user experience. I used to bash iPhone on its inferior hardware specs. But until I actually own one of the iPhone 3G, only did I realize there's more to then just comparing hardware specs. Hardware specs will always improve over time, but the same could not be said of a 'User experience' like what u'll enjoy from an iPhone. Surely, the iPhone does not come with the best camera in its class, but if u want a good camera, why not just get a digital camera instead? I'm sure even any regular Cannon Ixus 5MP would beat any 8MP or 12MP camera phones out there, hands down anytime.
I believe majority of the people who actually criticize the iPhone, do not actually own one. If they do, probably not yet for long enough to understand the phone, or the market segment this phone is targeted towards (which are for customers who values prestige, sleek design, UI, superior audio quality, and user friendliness - certainly not for those who are naive enough to depend on a small-lens camera phone for professional quality image).
And as the saying goes: "Once u go Mac, you can't go Back", I start to agree to this. Just my 2 cents worth.

facepalm again, on other phones you can change the color add an affect,frames and not just only trim and you can upload them to youtube and other sharing features such bluetooth transfer which is missed in your iphone in the year 2009
for the record Symbain has 100s of thousands of applications and are free as the person below me said

You can get apps for the iphone from other s... moreThat maybe true, but still, the fundamental question is, how much of those apps are free, and how many of those "apps" are really apps and not feature add-ons that should have been built-in in the first place, like it is on other smartphones? You see, that is the primordial problem with a closed, proprietary vendor like Apple; they control the hardware, firmware and software, so they can charge more and hype it up as something "new" since everything would have to come from them anyway. It's like those fanbois bragging about iTunes; heck, I can get all those music files they pay for at no cost in a format that doesn't restrict where and how I can use them.

Haha, your numbers are dead wrong. That's just apps *in* the Ovi store, which is not anywhere close to the number of available apps for the whole Symbian system. Unlike with Apple, you are not forced to get apps only from one company-designated store, and pay for it at that. Most of the Symbian apps are free in hundreds of sites, and we're still not counting the ace in the hole of the Symbian system: the number of Jave J2ME apps that can all run on the Symbian platform. So the correct numbers are: Apple = 50,000 apps (many of which you need to pay for) from 1 site; Symbian = hundreds of thousands from hundred of sites (many of which are free).
Next time, read up a little before regurgitating fanboi drivel.

For as posting your vids, the iPhone is limited until the sites you want to post to develops a app for the phone. For as the nseries phones it's there already, no apps needed. Conclusion is: the nseries offers more out the box and nothing new far as video editing and posting. For as easy to use ui on a phone is over rated. Are you people dumb but yet want a smart phone, gotta see the irony and that. Personaly I've used both and currently using the iphone 3g and the difference I've seen between the nseries I've had in the iPhone is touchscreen, and apps you need place in it's own location which at times freeze or slow to working even mail.

PS the keynote was also funny. "Nokia has their Ovi store, and not all the apps are available on all the phones, its very complicated, so we took a lot of the phones and added them together to make a bigger number" Haha 1,088 apps in Ovi, compared to Apple, 50,000.

I think apple is very smart with product model.
They don't have to develop new model, just use the old model/casing, and put it the new circuit. Thus will reduce the development cost.
If only car manufacture do the same, maybe GM would not going south.
I also think the next iPhone will be iPhone 3G type-R, or maybe the iPhone 3G-SAP (Sport Activity Phone) or in BMW words is iPhone 3G-GT (Grand Tourismo).

over priced garbage, rubbish audio quality compared to 3 year old Nokia N91 8GB, NO AMOLED scree, crap video recording, rubbish camera, no flash, MMS capability??? er..... so what?? shouldnt that be on ALL phones for the last 5 years!!!
oh well, at least it has a touchscreen ey? ha ha ha

Sarah, 10 Jun 2009You're being unreasonable in saying that this new iphone mo... moreyou can get VGA@15fps on the iphone 3g via jailbreak, VGA@30fps is old standard now so it's really not a change, the VGA should have been in the 1st iphone. the megapixel is only 1 more megapixel and there is no photo processor for the camera, the samsung AMR is the only processor that control the entire phone hardware. it has no OLED screen, it sill LCD.

the apple hardcore fanboys will continue to say this is the best phone even in 2009 because they are delusional.
they actually think VGA recording is something new well unfortunately VGA recording is the old standard which has been around since 2006 popular on the Nokia n95, to make it worse for these fanboys the n95 had 5MP camera with LED flash. current phones have D1(720x480) recording and newly high detention 720p which is gonna be the standard in the upcoming phones replacing the D1.
for people who are saying they gonna get the n97, i say don't get the n97. the n97 is a pretty much like the n95 with qwerty keyboard and touch screen has vga recording and same camera, nokia is gonna release a 12mp HD phone in late autumn this year. better wait then regret it

There are major changes on the new iphone 3gs. It now has video capture. The still camera quality is even improved, not just the megapixels, but the photo processor as well. And the processor is twice as fast as the predecessor. So how can you say it's the same as the old model? The new model also comes with AMOLED display. Those are major changes if you ask me. The processing speed is already a major change by itself that sets it far apart from the prior models.

Look .. the point is that i ph is not camera oriented ph and its camera will be usable but will be inferior to many other top phs. On the other way round, other phs (including smart phs) has usable UI but the one on i ph is superior. Thats it.
