Using iOS 8 on my 4S, not happy with the performance so far... It lags...Not expected this kind of performance from an apple product. Did not hesitate to update even for once when I saw the update keeping apple's reputation in mind, but regretting now... 7.1.2 was much better..

Don't you see, apple makes you upgrade ios and your older iphone becomes laggy. Better go get that new iphone every year. There is no need to upgrade, unless certain app that you really sant but requires newer ios. Stay with same ios as long as you can

I regret that I upgraded to iOS8 a few days ago. There is a marked difference in performance. Facebook app has been most affected. It drags, comes to a complete stop or flips off. If I knew how to revert back to 7 I'd do it. I would not recommend the change to anyone.

Apple only counts those who leave at least one user review every 5 days.
Google counts everyone who just visits the Play Store (you don't need to install anything, you don't need to leave app reviews), and counts everyone in the last 15 days to include even midly active users.
Do I need to say more? If you want to know the version of devices out there, Google has a much, much much more exact methodology.

I think Apple wants people to buy a new Device since every update they make is a pain on an older device, maybe a marketing strategy.

Anon, 23 Sep 2014And to think only 25% of devices have 4.4 KitKat after how ... moreThose old devices are mostly doing just fine with an older android version. On the other hand, ios on older devices is a crappy experience. They try to push you to buy a new device. Not by not providing updates but by making your device feel progressively slow and laggy.
