The Nokia TA-1212, a feature phone with XpressMusic looks, has received 3C certification, signaling that it is nearing launch. The certification confirms that this is a 2G-only device (most carriers still have active 2G networks, but some have already shut theirs down).

China and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (where the phone was also certified) do have old-school networks, though, there’s still market for basic phones.

Anyway, the certification also reveals that the charger will be a basic one, outputting only 550mA. The battery has only 1,200mAh capacity, but you’re still looking at a couple of hours for a full charge. Then again, featurephones such as this one have great battery life, so you’ll rarely have to reach for a charger.

Most modern 4G towers can also send 2G signal without any problem.
