Samsung announces One UI 4.0 beta (based on Android 12), Galaxy S21 trio is getting it first

The rumors were true – there is no One UI 3.5, Samsung is jumping straight to version 4.0. It is based on Android 12 and the company is already recruiting beta testers to try it out.

Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra owners are invited to sign up for the beta program, which will go live soon. Unfortunately, for now it is only open to users in South Korea. Note: both SIM-free phones and those bought from carriers can participate.

There’s no set date for the start of the One UI 4.0 beta program yet. How long will it take to go from beta to stable? You never know with these things as it depends on how many issues are uncovered.

But taking the Note 20 series as an example, One UI 3.0 open beta started in late October and the stable update was rolled out in mid-December. One UI 3.0 brought Android 11, so it was a similarly major update (the recent 3.1 was smaller). If you need a refresher, here is Samsung’s update policy – select phones will get 3 OS updates and four year sof security patches.

Signing up for the beta program and news on the progress will go through the Samsung Members app.

Remember, your the Guinpigs for these better updates,it is a Risk, sometime it's good and not so good,I was too a guinepig, bloody paid for it as well,if it's not broken then don't fix it 👍

Oh please, my mum's Galaxy J8 already received two major OS updates and now running Android 10 with One UI 2.0 with absolutely zero lag. You clearly know nothing.

I hope in the Note 10+ update they will improve the video quality of the camera. The video quality is a little downgrade for me.
