to know the firmware version, when you check the phone before buying, press *#0000# and an information about the phone will be shown, including the phone's date of manucaturing. the firmware version is recognized by a 'V' sign.. example 'V 6.65' please be sure that a sim is inserted before pressing the key.
Just an advice, before buying this unit. check first the firmware version.

Thanks Van. the unit i bought here in Baguio City, which i actually bought from Tiongsan, has no NTC sticker and firmware version 6.25. I am experiencing problems like auto restarting, sim 2 not active, loud speaker automatically turns on during call conversation. Where can I go to update its firmware version? Is your store updating firmware version of Nokia Phones? Thanks Man

Hello. The unit sold here in the Philippines particularly in Baguio City has its firmware updated. it has also Filipino language as an option if you want to use our national language. Just make sure that when you buy the unit, it has National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Sticker to be assured that what you are buying undergone testing and check up by the government. if it has no NTC sticker I advise that you look for others who has. Its firmware is v 6.65. I can attest to this because I own a store and I am an authorized Nokia dealer in the Philippines and I am using one of this. its very great phone but I was disappointed with the speaker, for better sounds, i recommend the use of a headset. in general, i rate this phone 8/10. what is your location? i haven't heard of the .30 version but what's important is that you are not experiencing any of the issues. to avoid any of it in the future it's advisable and essential that you update your fw.

Guys yesterday i bought nokia 101 from an online shopping site, but when i checked the firmware, it said "06.30" i really fail to understand which firmware this is???? this is not 06.25 and neither 06.65, but since yesterday, i havent faced ny problem as such!!
please someone reply, do i need to update the firmware??
or should i stick to this 06.30 only??

"sorry to say but there is no possible way to update your nokia 101 by your self as this phone does not have usb port.
take it Nokia Care Center (NCC) nearest you and have them do it for you. just make sure you'll give them a call first for you to be sure that they already have the 6.65 version.."

We've used N101 for about one week. This dual sim phone supports cambodian language by texting and talking clock.. It has flashlight, less heavy, small size and good sound quality.., but we want Nokia to launch smart phone which supports cambodian language too ..we know that just only Nokia N9 has khmer-keyboard but its price is still high for us.
We wish Nokia lots of success !!
