I am having the same problem of the phone getting cut whenever I am on call. This happens within a minute of receiving the call and hence is majorly hampering my usage of the cell.
This problem started some 3 weeks back. I really think this is an awesome cell and wish I could find the root of the problem.
If someone has found a solution, please post it.

i don't think that this phone is for teenagers...they want camera, mp3, stereo sound, etc... I have 14 years(a teenager) and i own an N70 and none of my friends have a phone worse than the Sony-Ericsson K500i...

Hi, my boyfriend owns the nokia 1100 and i must say this is a very basic phone with very basic features. The menu it's REALLY simple and it's perfect for people who don't want to get mess up with new mesmerizing technology (my boyfriend is like that) the only CONS:
1.- He has this annoying problem that when he is receiving or making a call, the call is cut by the phone (we don't know why but this is his second 1100, he lost the other one, and the two had the same problem)so he can only make or receive calls of about 1 min or less.
2.- It doens't have a calendar!!
3.- When you take out the battery and put it back again and start the phone, you have to introduce the date and time again (each time you take the battery out). It's really annoying!
PROS:
1.- Its price, very cheap.
2.- The torch, extremely useful.
3.- Its design, very handy and almost indestructible.
Conclusion: I recommend this phone to people who don't want to spend much money on sth you might use only for sms or basic calls. : D

THIS PHONE IS GREAT! I got it after my Samsung got stolen and its indestructable. I've dropped it off a two storey building, threw it at countless people, dropped on the concrete then stood on it(quite a few times), my friend chucked it at our school building, I cracked it with a rock, its even been thrown at me and I dropped it in the bath. AND IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY!! Its a bit scratched BUT IT WORKS! And battery lasts sooo long, its also very simple to use! Great for a first phone or if you are extremely clumsy :)

Made a small typo. Was supposed to say: between 1100 and 1101. :)

For those asking what the difference is:
- 1101 has WAP with basic GSM data. Not something you really need in a phone like this.
- The display is different. That most likely also causes the reduced battery life. Not sure if it's actually shorter. I would say this is what makes you choose between 1100 and 1102. It depends on which screen you like more.

MUCH better than expensive 5140. You can actually read the display and press the keys with the 1100, and that's not easy on 'most all current Nokias (or others)...

Don't bother what these little lads who post here say. The 1100 is actually the best phone out there for calls. All kids want is toys and lots of 'em to boast to their pals.
