I bought this phone 2 weeks ago as a 2nd phone. I mostly use this phone for messaging as I use to msg a lot and my N73 is too slow for messaging and the keypad is also a bit uncomfortable. Nokia 1200 is quite good in messaging. Responce is fast and keypad is also comfortable. The message storage is less ( only 60 sms) although the phone has 4MB memory which is vacant all the time as the phone doesnt have GPRS or any other storage input source. so they should have given more memory to Messaging.
I have bought this mobile in Mobile zone guarantee(Pakistan) and the problem is that it has came from india so urdu is not available as a writing language. Moreover calender is also messed up with hindi events and occations which is really really pathetic. Mobile zone should do something about this. The phone also have some software bugs but as someone already said that they are very minor and do not effect the functionality of phone. Upgraded firmwares will solve those buggs.
The charging also lasts for a long time.Flash light quite powerful and better than my N73. Call history can save 5 latest missed calls came from the same number. Same is valid for dialled and received numbers. Quite useful feature which was absent in Nokia 1110 & 1112 models. As the use to overwrite the previous missed calls when a new missed call comes from the same number.
Overall a really nice phone. Durable & reliable. Nokia is the best in low price handsets as well as expensive ones.

if the caller name doesn't appear even if it is in your directory list, chances are there are 2 entries in yuor phone directory with either the same name or same number.

umm well i like it, i have 3 cheap phones including this one and (1)expensive one for display =P - what me liked most about this phone is- the battery last longer than other phones (specially those colored ones), very light, keypads are great (fast and easy) and no big deal when losing it =D specially if you're from phil. "mandurukots"/snatchers are everywhere.

Your old charger wont work with 1200 model. Nokia has introduced this new charger in 1200 and it newer phone. It is one main defect of this otherwise good phone.
The phone can store only 60 messages which is really small

I have used this phone for a month now. I previously used Nokia 1100 (still love it but it lacks handfree) n Nokia 1110 (ugly screen, i lost it anyway). Overall 1200 is a excellent basic mobile but with one flaw (at least 4 me). Here are my overall review

                              What i liked:
-Good battery life: one charge normally lasts for three days with normal use n sometimes longer.
                              -Tourchlight: Really bright & useful
-Screen: Unlike colour screen the good thing about monochrome screen is it is viewable all the time. Even when i turn off the backlight the text (n power saver clock) is visible in even dim lighting condition. Some may prefer colour screen its the taste of people but for me monochrome screen rocks but brighter 1 as of 1108 would have been better.
-Calender: This is very neat feature for the price of this phone. I can input all my holidays and schedule.
-KeyPad: The keypad of model 1100 n 1110 were best(I do lot of text messeging). Although 1200 keys r bit difficult , the keys layout and overall feeling much better than motorola models which i have tried.
-Performance: No comment here, the sound quality was good if not better.
-Rigidness: The ads say, this mobile is meant to be rugged n is able to withstand shocks and drops, which is good but i'm not sure abt this claim.

                              What i didnt like:
Charger: This is 1 thing i really hate about this model. Nokia has introduced a charger with new point(so charger of other nokia models wont work with this one). With other nokia models i could easily charge them most of the time since Nokia phones r common. But with its new charger point in this model i dont have that comfort. Wonder why Nokia made this move. This is a serious flaw 4 me as i'm not at home always.
Overall design: Ok it varies with people but 2 me the look & design of 1110 model was better.
Message storage: It can only store 60 messages which is not enough i think. The cheapest motorola phone offers more message storage.
There r some software problems but they r extremely minor.

Overall, except for new charging point and less message capacity the phone is excellent for people who really need a basic mobile. I do wish Nokia offered this model with a FM tuner.

I have it from 02 weeks a i think it is the best basic pjhone to use in a whole week. you have not to charge it every nigh when you sleep. the pnly drawback for this phone i think is its Key paid whci is very touchy and get colour fed after us of 2 weeks only.
