If you bought the phone in China, it will not work in the USA. China and USA use different frequencies, so you will have to buy a new phone. Look at this map: http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm-map-worldtimezone.gif
The map shows you where your phone will work. Your Chinese phone will work in the purple countries, and your USA phone will work in the orange countries.

I use this phone but voice quality like very poor. i can hear sound from its backside. so i'm feeling sad to use it.

i m nisarg, u all no but u dont no that dis phone has mp3 player,8 gb memory and 7 mp camera just at a reasonable price of Rs.1299,buy it its a good phone launched by nokia which connects people.I m not joking

Reply to chido and other guy who have the headset icon appearing on their sets. just go to settings in the phone then enhancement settings and choose headset do not choose the loopset thats why the headphone icon is appearing choose the headseat option

My friend brought his unit to care center for software update as i advised then 'poof' cococrunch! haha kidding, then after that problem was solved...

i have this phone last day ago i buy it 1,400 thousand pesos in philippine money and i felt so comfortable and easy txting to any one now i love this phone morethan in express music phone xD

Its a good phone portable,cheap but now my problem is that an icon for a headset appeared on the screen but didnot use any headfone,its no longer ringing even if i try calling someone i cant hear anything.how do i remove the icon.its 3 weeks old now.please help woo

My phone is holding the charge even for less then 24hrs.... What should i do... I just Bought this Phone coz i heard that this phone last for long...but it didn't prove so. i m very unhappy.

i did not experience this kind of problem in all of the 3 1202s that i bought. but if that's the case just update your software. by then monitor it for atleast 3 days if it still happens try to use other sim or network. good luck...
by the way i really enjoy my phone calls. i think enhanced speaker of 1202 is better than that of others you know why? it doesn't turn hot, even in continuous usage but be sure to put it in level 3 or 4 only so that you don't hurt your hearing buddy...

i have a nokia 1202 that works with china mobile, but does not work with usa at&t. i think this is locked. how do i verify if it is locked or not?

i am using this mobile i got this mob with 860mAh battery but i am using BL5C 1020mAh.the talktime and standby changed from 8hs to 13hrs talktime and 800hs standby thats around 25days.use a tape to put it right on battery holder.

I'ts really good phone. I bought it in dec 2008. I really satisfied with this phone. Superb battery life, and good build quality. My child always throw my phone to floor, and a phone it's still work.

Dis problem is to many people coz for dis i hav gone to service station Nasik Road, maharashtra & I found 4 people der having Same Problem
