1. when you talk everyone near you can hear the conversation!
2. conversation voice quality is great.
3. speaker phone is great too.
4. You need to charge the handset two times a week with a normal use.
5. slim, light, simple and FUN!

i've gone through almost all of nokia's entry-level units: the 1100, 1110 (and most of it's variants), the 1200, and now, the 1202... i would have to say that this is the sleekest base phone they have put out to date... the backlight is a bit dimmer than the 1112's, but i just love the bigger keymat layout. it's really helpful for touch-texting (which i do while i drive) and for those quick-reply situations you can't just avoid sometimes. battery life is excellent like its predecessors, however, like what most of the people here are complaining about, i hate the speaker. it robs you of every aspect of a "private conversation" cuz about 4 or 5 people near you would be able to actually hear what is being said to you clearly. anyways, it uses the same OS as the above mentioned phones, albeit the scrolling seems to be a bit faster now, especially with the main menu. again, like most entry level nokia phones, texting is a breeze thanks to it's quick-response message editor, calls are easily made thanks to its large key pad (which again, is also what makes its SMS feature top notch) and yes, you still get a free torch on top of it. the back cover also seems to have a rivited design to reduce the chance of it slipping. looks like the had to upgrade the design for practical, heavy duty use, especially since this phone is aimed at the low budget/starting market. overall you'll love this phone because, like what's printed on the box, it'll make you go "discover the power of simplicity" :)

This fone is da bomb! I own 7, one for each day of the week. The flashlight is also handy for those dark evenings when I'm driving home or romantic torch lit dinners with my wife. I recommend go out and buy as many as you can. I am THE 1202 EXPERT!

I just bought this phone this afternoon. I can say that it is a very very good basic phone. About the speaker problem, I just covered the speaker holes at the back with a thin cardboard and it's now functioning the way it should be.

I had this phone a while ago (but I lost it!) and it was the best phone i have ever owned. I also own other multimedia phones but when it comes to ease of use, this Nokia 1202 is the best! Easy to text! No need to charge every single day. Has a long battery life!
