Aizaz Ali is right...! There is no earpiece in 1202.
The Solution for this problem is to cover the loudspeaker hole in the back of the phone with your finger...

I think its a good hand set but i am not sure about its flash light and its also costly in pakistan.

Donot Buy this phone because You cannot Receive CAll in it, and there is not any earphone in it except only a LOUDSPEAKER.
EVERY CALL attended through Loudspeaker so you cannot talk in privacy.
Flash Lite is Very Low.
So if you want to buy then go for Nokia 1200. this phone is so nicer than this Nokia 1202.

over all best fone but What I have found is that there is an earpiece problem in Nokia 1202. The sound comes from loud speaker.. some time u cant understand what other person is talking..

Nokia 1202 is the best series of NOKIA 12...As it is Small,Slim,Fast...Full of all those commnon features which we need for our own use...

just a small phone with no radio, gprs, infra red, bluetooth. somehow Manageable. just for receiving call.

Bought it as my 2nd set, a week ago, from Singapore Plaza Rawalpindi. Nokia 1202 is really having that speaker problem i.e during call, the sound comes from loud speaker instead of the earpiece, hence no privacy as the person sitting next to you can easily hear the conversation.
What I have found is that there is no earpiece in Nokia 1202. The sound comes from loud speaker. Only the volume changes when you switch from handset to loud speaker mode. Nokia has made this move to cut the price.
I know it looks ridiculous but you can listen the other person more clearly if you hold it in your hand backwards i.e loud speaker attached to ear and screen facing your palm. Thats totally insane. Nokia should have placed an earpiece in Nokia 1202.
The good thing about the phone is its battery. Its battery life is awesome. The battery listed on this site is BL-4C 720 mAh, but the battery which has come with my phone is BL-4C 860 mAh (3.2 Wh). I have charged my phone a week ago when I bought it and it has come to its last bar now despite talking(3:30 hrs call timer) and using its flash light during black-outs. The keypad is also very comfortable.

Its a good basic fon. But one thing of dis fon I dont like, dat is its speaker system. The loudspeaker and the handset both working by one speaker. When you talk normally without loudspeaker, it sounds louder from behind then earpiece. It also makes vibration. If there is a seperat speaker for earpiece, dis fon will b better than ever.
