This is definitely an upgrade to the Nokia 1208. The keypad has improved and despite being monochrome, I find its display better than the Nokia 1208. I miss the Rooster ringtone though.

it's a light handy phone with excellent white light. reminds me of the classic 8310. it has a flashlight as well. fast texting, clear mouth piece, and long battery life. good backup or alternative phone. my mom loves it

to have a phone nokia 1202 is a waistage of money because the sound leaks out from back speaker even at lowest volume so theit is no privacy in this phone during call

This phone doesn't serve the first purpose: Communication. The speaker is awful. Even at the lowest volume, the sound sort of "leaks out" from the back of the phone. Now who gives a damn about talk time? Nobody can talk for 8 hours on this torture phone. I keep yelling, "What? What?" and it's so irritating for both parties. I am a heavy mobile-phone user, and I bought this phone solely for the purpose of talking; but I'm greatly disappointed in this piece of crap. I like the cool creamy white backlight though.
Conclusion:
Don't buy it. Settle for something else. Nokia 1208 is good, but its keypad sucks. It swells out after a few days. For those who want to continue using 1202, there's a solution for the bad speaker. Remove the back cover and dial your customer support center, e.g., dial 310 for Zong Pakistan, and when you hear the recording, put your finger over the speaker on the back. It's that black square on the back of your phone. Make sure that when you do that, the volume is not maximum but is somewhere around 2nd level. As soon as you put the finger, you'll notice that the sound will get better. That's because the sound won't "leak out" from the back. Haha. There's a big outlet at the back, while just a small one - and even that is not direct - at the front. What actually happens is that the greater part of the sound energy is lost from the back. It reflects back from the front and "leaks out" of the back because there is ample room for it to escape. So while listening to that recording, try lifting the finger and putting it back on. You'll like the voice better. Cut something solid (as big as the speaker square) and glue or tape it to the speaker square on the back (the black space). There you go. You have yourself a Nokia 1202 with good sound quality.

finaly i bought it for my father its a excellent stylish cell fone, belive me if you take it in the markets its looks are realy killer,
thanks to nokia devoloping such a nice cell fone in a good range its now available for 2800rupees in pakistan, with Advance telecom warrantty,

Hi, dears, Me bought this cell phone from pakistan, this is an excellent cell phone, having slim & smart.. I suggest Nokia to enhance these futures then It will be very perfect and economical cell phone in low price..

Nokia 1202 is good phone but not a good for nokia market becuse this phone sound quality is very bad.
and during call sound is vibrate and not clear.this is black flag on nokia brand i am really said and west my 1400/-Rupese.
