From last few... moreSounds like you have a "timed profile" set up.
Go to profiles and check the settings.
Great little phone if your looking for just that... Battery life is exceptional too.

I received the 2610 yesterday and plan to use it as a "knocking around" phone for camping. I have another "good" phone for daily use but may end up using 2610 all the time. As the owners manual says on page 9, section 3, you can adjust the volume. Screen contrast is at Menu -> Settings -> Display -> Display Contrast. Most features work, like text messages and web browser, but some are restricted by the cell company. Sound is good and speaker phone can be very loud or soft as desired. PDA functions are a plus. To turn it on and off, hold the red phone button like the book says on page 7. If you don't have a User Guide, you can download one from Nokia. (Page numbers will be different.) I've been in trouble for bringing a camera to some places (like locker rooms and similar places) so I like that this phone doesn't have a camera. I rarely use it on my other phone anyway. I have recorded my own ringtone so now when it rings, it says "Telephone" in my own voice. I wanted a unique ringer. After playing with this phone for two days, reading the book and adjusting the settings, it seems to be a very good phone.

This phone is useless. I cannot use it outdoors and that is where I need it. I cnnot make a call. I answer this phone but have to make calls from my own personal phone

when in a call, just press the right/left arrow on the arrowpad to change volume, or when listening to ur recorded audio press right/left pad..or clik on menu->tools->my shortcuts->navg. key OR rite key selection --> scroll down to VOLUME

Can anyone help me to bring up the volumn on Nokia 2610? I can't find anything regarding volumn on booklet menu and phone. Did they actually forgot to design the volumn bottom for this phone?

Actually it has a very good finishing. For middle class people its a great phone. The main purpose of mobile is to talk and SMS.This phone satisfies those needs.Thats enough know. I liked it very much than any other models.

nokia 2610 is a good mobile but its memory is too low only 2 mb.in sun light its screen cannot be seen clearly i like its sms memory which is very high

Nokia 2610 is a great phone set in the list of normal range sets.the best feature of this set is its the messaging capacity.we can keep a large numbers of sms in it.i have about more than 1000 sms in my phone at this time.i advice to all viewers to buy this phone.immediately.this is a great phone

I like that phone due to its battery time...
From last few days i am facing a problem in the phone.
Some of phone features are disabled automatically for hour or so randomly on my phone and i saw a different icon on my screen at that time.
Features which i noted that are disabled are as follows
1) No ring tone when i get the call during that time.
2) Vibrator is also disabled.
3) automatic Keypad lock also not working at that time...
Can anybody tell me what is happening with my phone?

I've had this phone for more than a year.
Its appearance is really wonderful.
It has some problems:
1. its display shows almost nothing in the daylight.
2. its speed for opening the gallery files is relatively slow.
3. its internal memory is not big enough.
4. the same as the first one.
anyhow, if you are about to buy this model, i recommend you to purchase Nokia 2626, because that model is equipped with FM Radio.

How do people who barely understand or have the cabability to write the English language post opinions on this site?
Even though the capabilities of this phone are limited, it's excellent for a backup or emergency line. Great battery life and ease of use. Can't go wrong for $20.

This mobile was useless for us as it is totally illegible in bright sunlight due to the highly mirroring effect of the screen. We had to return it to the shop the day after purchasing it as we could not use it in a brightly lit room or outside. Bewarned!
