What do you mean mp4 conversion thorught N... moreDo not use Nokia Suite but use Nokia PC Suite (the "old" application).
In addition, download and install the cable connexion driver.

What do you mean mp4 conversion thorught Nokia Suite? How is that done? I thought the 301 wasn't supported by Nokia Suite, and all new phones from 2013 onwards will not be able to connect to Nokia Suite...
Mp4 on the c2 I have just bought doesn't work directly from the microSD, but would it work as you say through Nokia Suite? how is this done? Thank you.
On the C2 videos AVI and 3GP work OK.But videos WMV, MOV and MP4 are not possible.

Back to when I still had my 301, I confirm that MP4 files simply copy/pasted onto the SD card could not be played. But MP4 file transfer/ conversion using the Nokia PC Suite function enabled to read video on the 301. Of course, this PC Suite file conversion process takes more time than the simple copy/paste.

Is there ANYONE out there who knows whether the Nokia 301 DUAL sim variant will at all be available in SOUTH AFRICA and when??? I have never battled the way I have to get info on whether this phone was ever going to be released in this country. Finally, the Nokia 301 has been released on one network only at an exorbitant price compared to all other countries!!!! NOW I hear of the better specs of the DUAL sim and problems with battery life of single sim, and really want a DUAL sim...but will it EVER be released here???????????????Someone from Nokia or ANYONE else PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So disappointed with this phone.
The nokia website said it can play these video codecs
Video playback codecs: H.264/AVC, MPEG-4
Video playback file formats: MP4, ASF, AVI,
it can play 3gp obviously, duhh.. but that's Jurassic age!

Nokia is full of LIES will never buy again a Nokia phone. Apple and Samsung are also crappy phone makers but they don't do OBVIOUS LIES to their products.

In fact, after having read so many complaints about Nokia 301, I finally changed my mind and bought Nokia 206 last week, for I have no use for 3G services. I feel very lucky because everything about Nokia 206 turns out to be very satisfactory. Its network reception and call quality are both excellent. On dual-SIM standby mode, the battery last 4 to 5 days, during which I talked to my friends for about two hours on the hands-free loudspeaker but did not play games or use any internet services. If you use only one SIM on this phone, it surely won't get out of juice until ten days later. The only drawback pointed out by people on the internet is its lagginess, but that is not a problem to me, because it is not so unbearably slow in operation as you might think. ^_^
