There have been reports of short battery duration for the single-SIM version of Nokia 301. What about the dual-SIM model? Can anyone who has the dual-SIM version on hand provide information on how long the battery holds out? Any other experience with the phone is also welcome. Thanks a lot.

It's been proven to have better reception and voice quality than 301 and it also has a way better keypad. If you're a thinking guy P1000 difference should matter to you.

Obviously Stand-by specs are opposite from 2g to 3g, doesn't seems right!

I do not expect 888h either but only 10minutes of talk time and the battery life last only less than 2days, I call that an advertising fraud even their Lumia last longer than that.

In addition, I was considering getting another 301 phone for further tests ... but other users already did it (see Nokia forum thread http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Asha-and-other-Nokia-Series-30/Nokia-301-short-battery-life-gt-H-icon-always-on/td-p/1908754/page/3 ) and experienced the same problem a second time. That deterred me from doing so.

Ever since product marketing has been invented, there will always be lies embedded on them.

I've never believed and relied on everything that is being said about a product until I've experienced it.

So when it comes to battery life, I don't mind if what is being marketed is different from the actual performance. It's obviously bloated.

To people complaining about it, just stop. If you want a phone where you can do all those social networking crap endlessly without battery issues, buy the overly hyped touch phones.

I bought this phone to replace my 6300 which is having issues with network reception in my area.

And being the thinking person that I am, I don't need to use garbage like facebook, twitter, youtube, whatsapp, etc. All I need is a basic phone that I can use to contact the people that are important to me.

I have not yet explored the whole of it, but overall I am satisfied.

The keypad is great for blind texting. I am overly pissed by idiots walking slowly in front of me while texting on their touch phones. With this great keypad, you can text blindly and efficiently.

It receives text messages and calls efficiently, check. I can hear the voice of anyone whom Im talking with, check. I have an alarm clock that I can use to wake me up, check. I have a calculator if my mind gets idiotic like most of the smart phone users, check. I have a music player and radio, check.

So what else can a thinking person ask for?

This is a classic nokia phone that caters to those who prefers no nonsense. There may be a few bugs here and there but it is really good to be old school in these times of phones getting smarter and smarter than their consumers.

In few words, after reading many comments at gsmarena and at nokia forums, we can say nokia 301 has 2 main problems:

                                        - short battery duration
                                        - low voice quality

                                        In detail:

                                        - The battery duration seems to be shorter than in some old nokia phones (that still work), and much shorter than the value promised in the model specifications.

                                        - The voice quality seems to be lower than in nokia 206 (a 2g phone), that is shocking if we have in mind that nokia 301 is a 3.5 hdvoice phone (according to the model specifications).

The cause could be a problem in software and/or in hardware. Anyway, the question everybody is asking is: Why has nokia launched a still-not-ready phone? Defects in battery duration and in voice quality are too important to be ignored.

And those two questions take us to an even more important question: Why nokia is not giving any explanation on this problems? The only official explanation we can see at nokia forums is something like "we are studing the problems" or "give us more information on the problems".

In my opinion, that is not a good communication policy from a company. Opacity is not the way. Companies should keep a permanent conversation with society, with citizens. It looks like they have STILL not read "the cluetrain manifesto" (written in 1999).

P.S Thanks to MisterBean64 for all his comments and information (he is giving us much more information than nokia).
