you're also a filipino? well, i guess you should try to install again 6.01 but do not use factory settings.

your problem is strange... I suggest you to reinstall version 6.01 all over again - complete setup... then restart the phone and see.

It's really strange. It is v.06.01 RM-237 and is dated 16-01-08 but the menu really included PTT eventhough it is removed in the v.06.01. It is like the 5.50 and the postcard also was gone. There should be postcard in message options in the v.06.01 but mine was lost eversince i restored factory settings. In other words, it's only the figures in the firmware version that proves that my firmware is v.06.01 but with the menu, it is like the v.05.50! Please help.

please check again what is your current firmware, is it 5.5 or 6.01? key in *#0000#
you said that it reverted to 5.5? right? so we will check it it really went to 5.5 permanently.
try to restore factory setting again and then follow my previous post to you.
lets check again if it will not work.

Thanks for giving an advice fireball but i have already tried that and it didn't work. Anyone else who know something about this? Please share to me. I'm really troubled by this problem. I cannot even use my 3110c for calls and texts. I'm now using my old 2610 for calls, texts and for posting opinions here.

Can anyone of you please help me ??
I have the 3110C it keeps on restarting no matter waht I do. I tried the nokia software update tool but it still shows only 5.05,.. Can someone please help me fix the restarting problem ?

I own a phone like this... It restarted only 2 times in 2 months... No other problems ocurred...
2 words for this phone: CHEAP and GOOD
Congrats Nokia! I sincerly recommend this phone because it has a lot of features and it is low on price. Careful though... don't buy it for your girlfriend... cuz it's not for women ;)

Pero your absolutely right, in fairness to Nokia Care Centers @ the Philippines, they are very friendly and even if the line is full, they will never allow you to leave unless your problem have been solved, ehe...
They also advise for alternatives, but I can't replace my unit since it has an extra special sentimental value (wushu)...
Well, Filipinos are really friendly, known worldwide for the hospitality...

TO THOSE WHO HAVE REFORMAT PROBLEMS BUT DON'T HAVE READY ACCESS TO THE FIRMWARE UPDATE, here is an alternative:
If you have the patience,
do not insert your MMC for 2 weeks...
Yep, you read it right, no MMC for 2 straight weeks, no MMC reinsertion attempts, no nothing... for 2 weeks.
I was already hopeless then after trying many different things posted in here to solve this prob, got exhausted even emotionally, so I just resorted to not actually using the MMC anymore.
But after two weeks, which was last week,
I reinserted my MMC, it blinked (as I have expected) BUT it did not restart... I was actually expecting that it would restart after a minute or so, but IT DID NOT!
Still skeptical that the fone was just giving me false hopes, I tried on customized themes, IT DID NOT restart.
I added 5 MP3s, updated my lib, IT DID NOT restart.
I sent 25 files, again, IT DID NOT restart.
Then, to test it, I inserted my 2GB MMC...
Guess what? IT DID NOT RESTART!!!
And the 2GB is inserted now for already 7 days, no RESTART problems so far, I even tried the web, no problems...

Just try it, it's worth the wait, promise!
I'll let you know as soon as I encounter problems...
But while I'm typing this, I already enjoyed 7 days of pure bliss (eeww) with my resurrected 3110c (2GB, mind you), and counting...

i forgot to say that the package only comes with the phone unit, battery, charger and manual. others not mentioned are for purchase

that is a real strange problem and this is the first time i hear about that problem since i joined this community.
1. i have no idea that your phone reverted to 5.5 when 6.01 were already loaded.
2. try these things, select your profile as general and load the nokia theme. turn off your mobile phone. remove your sim card. re-insert your sim card and turn on your mobile phone. if you have a micro sd, remove it first before restarting your phone.
hit back if you still encounter the problem and i hope some of the regulars here will also help you.

you can try any mini usb cable and pc suite is free for download in the nokia site. so if you have a digital camera with mini usb cable, you can use it.

Please people advice anything with my problem below. My problem is really haunting me! I forgot to mention that i love to use the flight profile everynight. Not sure if this has connection but i am suspecting that it is the culprit because i haven't done anything wrong with my phone. I had never drop it. I had never make it wet either. I even use original Nokia 1GB micro sd and a specified Nokia DKE-2 USB Data Cable just to assure excellent performance but it seems that all my sacrifices is worthless! It's sad to imagine that Nokia is not that as reliable as before. I used to own only Nokias and trust only Nokia but it sad to say, Nokia is now focusing more on the multimedia rather than the telephony which is the PRIMARY purpose and function of a mobile phone. :-(
Anyway people do you have anything to advice with my problem? Because if there's nothing i can do, then i would surely sell this Nokia and buy a SE.

How do I make the 2GB SD memory card the default memory in my 3110. The phone can see the card and read it's capacity in the phone directory but choses to ignore it.

i can't use my N3110c
phone because i can't unlock the keypad due to the fact that i forgot my security code. how can i reformat my unit? please help me. i am hoping that one of the readers will help me as soon as possible. please. just email the answer.

Another problem! My phone kept on saying "SIM card registration failed" and sometimes when i turn the phone on, it says "No SIM Card inserted" and it displays NO SERVICE under the signal strength icon eventhough i inserted properly the SIM card. Very strange! Even i changed my SIM, same problem! And menu is doing strange things when i experience these. Like for example when i open the inbox, it says "Operation Failed, No SIM Card Inserted" "Unable to Open Folder!". And so with the other folders like Sent Items, Saved Items and etc.. And so with the phonebook. It says "NO SIM CARD INSERTED" eventhough i have saved all the contacts in the phone memory! And when i enter menus like media and open music player, it kept on going back to the home screen! Please help! My phone is genuine and I already went to Nokia Center since i bought my phone at Nokia Store but all they did is just simply reinstalling the firmware in which it doesn't help at all!! Very problematic handset.
