hey meed
by volume i guess you mean size. its 128x160 pixels which is basically 3.5cm by 3cm.. or you can just use "paint" program on windows and make drawing space 128x160 pixels
(there is a pixel counter thing in the bottom toolbar when you resize stuff) hope that makes sense.
i guess it will depend on your current phone's screen size, if you this the 3110's is good.

@nat
thanks for the reply.
im still not 100% sure about the microSD thing, but i checked out the MU-22 thing and basically its a 'nokia' memory card. But i reckon any microSD should work - i mean they all look the same. i think also that sandisk's compatibility site ( www.sandisk.com/Compatibility ) doesnt list the 3110C only cos its a new model.
and, i know i might be a eBay junky, but FYI you can get 2GB sandisk microSD card for about $30AUS. you should check it out before you spend $80 on the same thing. worth the wait in my opinion.
oh yeah, to add to your jipped'ness, i think my phone comes with a 32mb card.
thanks again nat for your feedback, it seems there are only a few of us who are prepared to write back for everyones benefit. good on ya!

@ richard
"photo id"
i just tried this by dialing my mobile from my home phone, having previously set the image id for my home number as a cat picture. when my mobile alerted me there was a call it appeared with the name and (cat) picture of the incomming calling. the picture took up maybe 3/4 of screen so not full screen (ie: all the available screen without the time bar thing at the top and the options bar at the bottom).
@ waymassive
"micro sd"
I'm not entirely sure, but i think all micro sd cards are the same except for memory size. however in the manual is says "1 GB microSD Card MU-22" so maybe MU-22 is the type. i dunno. but the lady at the phone shop did which makes it ok lol.
also some of u r saying your phone came with a 1GB microSD card. GAH i got jipped again! I'm going to have to go out an buy one myself. sigh. $80 AUD for 1 or 2GB I can't remember.
and what did eveyone get inside the box? apart from the phone ofcourse.
i got headphones, charger, manual and sme cardboard. i feel like im missing something here.
@ no one.. well you left no name
"anyone plz let me know does this have flash....etc"
well it has this cool 3D snowboard game and in the specs section of this website is says "Java MIDP 2.0" so yes it had java. dont know about flash. probably does tho. havent downloaded anything but ive browsed the virgin mobile homepage and its much quicker than my old LG c1100. see my previous rant about the volume. the sound quality is fine tho.
_______________
lol please ignore my posts below about the 'unprofesional' display. its nice, really. if you change the themes its even better.
does anyone have themes apart from the standard 3? ide like to try out some new ones.
oh and how do you change the colour of the font on the main screen? is this purely theme related?

hi waymassive
argh $160 you say *sighs* i certainly got jipped (lol i have a friend who loves that word) but oh well im too impatient to wait for stuff to send. and it was the cheapest outright one i could find in the city.
i was tossing up between this one and the nokia 6300 but i thought the 6300 was too "businessy". i had a look at the 6233 but i didnt really like the style.
yeh im pretty sure if you want to *sync* you have to download the software from the nokia website, as it says in the manual.
but if you just want to transfer pics/music/tones as i do just plug it straight into your pc (via usb, or whatever)and access the phone via 'my computer' and you can cut n paste everything into the relevant folders. well thats what i do anyway.
the music player hmm. yes i would say its as good as any basic mp3 player (like my iriver T20) it has pause, next/previous song, ff/rw as the controls, and you have extra stuff such as a music library to sort/find your music plus an equaliser. however!!! you really need a micro sd card atleast +1GB to have a decent amount of songs on there. i currently only have x2 mp3 ringtones and one full song and it tell me i got no space left. that, or you upload low quality (and hence small bytes) files.
also you can leave the music playing while using the phone normally which is pretty cool.
you can certainly view your pics full screen. you select the option and the *whole* screen is filled with the pic.. except "back" is superimposed on the right hand side just incase you forget how to get back into the phone :P
hmm i think thats all,
for now anyway :)

Hi,
Does anyone know if this phone will display a full screen image (Photo ID) on an incoming call? I think the latest software for the S40 version 3 should do this. Thanks.

Earlier I posted about the phone when I first bought. I've had phone for nearly 3 weeks now and what I have observed on the phone which could do some work is...greater internal memory (MicroSD helps but more internal would be nice), if you play sound at maximum it sounds awful not that great. Resolution could be better, and finally digicam could have been at least 2MP. Opening back of phone is kinda difficult at times best to keep it closed.
Good things about it.
Sleek and pretty nice.
Weight: Feels really like
Back of phone has rubber feeling which looks amazing.
Buttons for text messaging is top of the line!
Screen brightness is amazing!
Overall features is wonderful.
Ah yes to answer someones question about it overheating. I personally have not found this to occur and I talk alot during my weekends and evenings!
Beautiful phone and not many have it which is nice :)

in response to 'nat'.
thanks for the review. ive been thinking about getting either this phone or the 6233, but due to the finances i decided to buy this one (still waiting for it to be sent - cant wait! :P). i bought mine from ebay for $160AUS- think you might have been jipped.
can i ask, do you have to download PC suite firmware before transferring music etc, or is it plug and play?
do you think the music player is as good as say a generic mp3 player?
can you view pics full screen?
thanks buddy.
ps. if you decide to reply, just post it here rather than email me. maybe itll help other people out. cheers!

ok guys thanks for the replys! not :P
well i went out and bought this phone today.
it was $249 AUD for an outright phone.
ive been playing with it for a while, and here are my latest pros and cons:
pros:
1) the number part of the keypad is AWESOME it all smooth and the keys are huge and its really really easy to press.
2) i actually like the design i think its quite pretty
cons
1) the screen smudges easily.. fingerprints i mean
2) the battery cover part is very hard to remove.. one side gets stuck and it feels like you are going to break it when you take it off but sofar i havent broken it lol
3)i have some issues with the sound of the ringtones. i dont know why but the low settings = 1,2,3 bars of sound are SO LOW YOU CANT HEAR them unless you put your ear to the speaker. the 4th bar is ok.. enough for using at home. the 5th bar is loud.. but im yet to test it on public transport. WHY this is i dont know.. why waste 3 sound setting on LOW volume. dont ask me.
4)although i love the bottom part of the keypad, im not too keen on the top part (meaning the call/end and navigational square buttons) the call and end buttons are set a bit deep so you end up pressing the rims.. and same with the square but this is meant to be like this. i find them a little "sharp" i am not used to this on a phone keypad
but after all that yes i do love the phone. camera quality on screen is ok but it might be better when i look at the pics on my PC. ill update this review soon
are you considering buying this phone? you can email me with any questions you hav and ill try and answer them. (nfstar11 at hotmail dot com)
