my phone does not have PTT (Push to Talk) on the menu... Although we don't get to use the function here, I think it should have been there. I guess that's another reason for me to consider changing the phone.

chris, 16 Apr 2009to save battery life, avoid running your network in dual mo... moreThat's exactly what I am trying to tell you people... my phone does not have GSM setting under Network mode. It only has Dual Mode and UMTS. Isnt that strange? I guess I might consider changing the set.

Ashman, 15 Apr 2009The battery is really being eaten up... I just bought this ... moreto save battery life, avoid running your network in dual mode. choose gsm instead. being in a 3g network contributes to the draining of the battery.

Lupu, 15 Apr 2009I olso have the firmware 7.16 and I have the GSM mode on m... moremy phone is made in Hungary and comes with 3 printed on the cover. It also does not feature Go To shortcut with the left selection key which was present with Asian models. Instead it has Launcher which has a selection of many internet sites which includes 3Planet, 3Music Store and other 3 related stuff... I think that is why it has an artistic 3 printed on the cover. I guess Nokia issues different firmwares for Europe and Asia.
I reinstalled 7.16 again from Nokia Europe site but still no GSM only selection. makes you wonder.

I have an argument with people who posted :- to Save Battery - I would suggest turn off the dual mode and use GSM only settings in the network. Disable the dual mode to GSM only. Battery life doubles! To change your Network mode: # Menu > Settings > Phone > Network mode > # Now you can select GSM mode.
Well folks, this is not possible as the phone does not give too many options: Just Dual Mode & UMTS. At least in my firmware v.7.16

yes I agree that the screen shuts off too soon. It may be fine... but Nokia should give us options to set our own timings to suit or own indivitual preferences. Let's hope they improve upon this in the newer firmwares.

the very useful "Rythmic Lights" feature that used to be present in various Nokia phones is missing in 3120c. This feature allowed us to notice any missed calls or messages by constantly flashing lights. Maybe the new firmware will give us this option.
