The memory card is a slot under the battery cover towards the side and requires bigger stronger fingernails to insert or pull out. quite a struggle and a bit cumbersome.

I found that the Menu - Grid with Names quite a good addition to the phone. You can also move individual buttons and assign specific locations as per your own choice and preference. Nice feature Nokia

I found the camera to be OK. not too excellent. not too bad. While viewing the photos on the phone screen, the photos look great. When viewing on a PC monitor the photos dont look as good. And believe me folks, my PC monitor is tuned to represent excellent colors and sharpness for design works.
However, I must say the Video is more than satisfactory for a mobile camera - 640x480 @15 FPS. not too bad. While it wont win any awards, it will work in an emergency and better than not having one.

The battery is really being eaten up... I just bought this set a few days back and it has gone only through 2 charge cycles. So, I guess it might be too early to comment... And also because it uses 2 Networks which might be responsible for the battery drain.
Anyone has an idea? please comment.

This phone also considerably slows down after changing Themes, and pauses for quite a bit. I guess the duration is enough to make people think it has "Hung Up" or something. I thought that way too - initially. But later it gets its composure back and begins to function normally.
Found it strange.

this phone is supposed to have an option to run on only GSM network through SETTINGS ... PHONE ... NETWORK MODE.
But it only has DUAL MODE and UMTS. I cannot put the phone on GSM only to save battery.
please help... how is that possible?

Just purchased your phone "excellent" except for two things:
1. speaker phone (loudspeaker) is a joke its barely louder than the ear piece, yet the ringer is super loud tried to have experts adjust no luck....
2. Screen shuts off way to soon 10 sec. I just barely find out what to select and it shuts off... Nothing to adjust a Nokia shop said I need Nokia cable, disk and update to keep backlight on longer and loudspeaker loud. Is this a scam to purchase updates? Why wasn't a cord and dist included??? This is my first Nokia, Samsung didn't have any of these problems they included a cord and disk to adjust these things. Nokia in Guam wants $85 dollars to update and make these two items work properly??? What do you suggest????

guys need help im trying to upgrade my software using my N96 data cable but wen its about to upgrade it failed ive tried it a number of times but no avail. it says...
for opimum connectivity, your usb cable should be connnected directly to the PC, and not via a USB hub, USB keyboard or laptop docking station...
please need help... thanks...

Try this. (http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update#. It showed v9.41 after punching in my product code. So I downloaded it.. Again, It's up in the air 'til I get that data cable. I hope this helps.

If there is someone who upgraded his firmware version 7.16 to v9.41 please make some comments about,if there is any improvements....(maybe there is a smart guy somewhere in this Nokia universe)

my battery it's weird.i mean it's full after two days after recharging and the other 3 lines disappears in one half day

Yes the cables are pretty hard to find. Wish Nokia had included even a very short one. These are pretty new in the market and not readily available. I guess as they grow in popularity, we should have more options from third party manufacturers.

Found the latest firmware v9.41 at nokia-europe people. Have no way of knowing yet if it works or not. Got to find the elusive ca-101 cable first. If only the required data cable was included in the box.. Sigh!

Guys, the website has only posted firmware v 7.16 till date ... what about filmware v9.41? it's not available.
