yes, you can set an MP3 song as your profile ringing tone, just open the file in real player and select the option "set as ringing tone". Same goes for message tone.

    Sam:

For the photo editor software, download the asia-pacific version at http://www.nokia.com.sg/nokia/0,8764,71792,00.html.

It'll be in the version with familiar languages.

    I got my Kingston rs-mmc at S$79.

        !@#$%:

Both are good reputable brands. I'm using at Kingston 512mb rs-mmc and it works fine. Whether or not it crashes, let's wait for someone who can fill up the card with 512mb of stuff then we'll feedback.

Is san disk rc-mmc better or kingstons? Is it true that if u get a 512mb and fill it with software, pictures, mp3...... it will crash very easily and be very slow?

sorry, forget to mentioned that I'm using the Kingston 512MB RS-MMC card, so far so good. I was told not to use more than 512MB & the 32MB supply with the phone really petty. The phone can't even record an hour video with the 32MB plus all the softwares in.

By the way, the shop I bought the Kingston RS-MMC as they told me that they did sell a few brands but Kingston are more stable and lifetime warranty (value for money).

Hope it help anyone looking forward to buy the RS-MMC in the near future. Best Regards.

I bought the RS-MMC Card and it's Kingston brand for S$88. So far have been using no problems and Kingston RS-MMC comes with Lifetime warranty. (remember to keep the purchase receipt or proof of purchase)

My problems with my nokia 3230 is the wty seal located at the battery cover and tend to hit the seal when I always change battery (spare batt) & also the Photo editor software is in vietnam lang (Nokia care centre hasn't any new software yet).

Overall it's a good phone with almost anything you want and price are reasonble.

S700i is a waste of money..
the price does not drop now... and the w800i will be around $799 with plan.. may be more
The S700i onli supports up to 128mb of memory card while the w800i can support up to 1GB...
W800i also is smaller in size and can play mp3 for 15 hours when the phone is on and 30 hours when the phone is switch off..
Anyway... the camera in the phone is onli used occasionally... why choose a phone with a gd cam and the other specs not as gd..
a 2mp cam is gd enough... even though is CMOS, the quality taken is still very gd..
u can take a look at sample pics

w800 is CMOS? i'm disappointed, i thought it's going to be CCD.
i was going to wait for it.
i might as well buy s700i instead of waiting for w800.

When there is a firmware update.. pls inform everyone here .. thanks..
Anyway.. the SE S700i takes a better picture
The lens of the camera is CCD..
while Nokia still uses a CMOS..
CCDs are more sharp and detailed than CMOS lends.. CCDs lens are widely used in digital cameras nowadays..
However, canon's technology of CMOS lens is great and gd enough to be used in an SLR camera..
So.. Nokia might consider using CCD lens in future..
Sony Ericsson on the other hand, Backfired
Their 2 new phones, K750i and W800i uses a CMOS lens.. and they are released so much later than the S700i.. i dunno the reason behind this..
Anyway.. i read about the highest MP camera phone so far... by Samsung
                                    7MP!!!!!!!!! 7!!!!

yes, luckily the volume control always stays at the same setting & i also put it at the second loudest.
however, i need to re-adjust it whenever someone's with very soft or loud voice calling ;p

I live in Singapore as well and I bought 2 sets of Nokia 3230. What can I say? It's a good phone and it meets my needs.

I'd suggest people not to be too hung up abt the phone's MP3 function because it's not meant to be a portable MP3 player.

Speaker-wise, it's softer than I'd like it to be.

Display is not as vibrant as a Samsung, but very nice, sharp and crisp.

The first set that I bought had keys which were really hard to press. But the second set I bought 2 weeks later (perhaps a new batch?) had much softer keys.

I have very few complaints abt this phone. Battery life is good (I charge it every other day or every 2 days), before the low batt warning comes on.

Pictures taken by the phone are clear and sharp, better even (IMO) than the SE S700i I had before. But it takes about a second after you press the snap button for the picture to show up.

Another annoying aspect is the lack of vibration for SMS received when in silent mode. Hopefully this will be addressed in the next firmware update.

By the way for those in Singapore, don't bother sending your phones in just yet. I was just at the Nokia centre today and was told that none of the Nokia centres islandwide have any parts or firmware updates for the 3230 because they're currently undergoing renovation.

I left my number with them and they'll give me a call when they're ready to service my phone.
