BTW... i am using a nokia 6600 at the moment
It has the same joystick thingy and operating on symbian too.
For me, i adjust the volume once for conversation... den it always stay at that volume till u need to adjust...
I put the volume at the second loudest and it is jus nice for any call... even in a noisy bus i can hear clearly...
I advise u not to put the vol. at the max as it might damage ur phone.. as well as the speakers when playing mp3/radio..

small expert:
you're welcome.
the volume control on the joystick is not a problem, but it's not comfortable when you want to adjust it during conversation.

Disappointed with Nokia.. Display wrong info..
i will try to inform them on that..
The diff between a 4 way and 5 way button is that the 5 way button can be pressed down..
I read from other reviews.. they also say that it has a 5 way button.. so it is another nokia's problem..
Thanks for alerting me about this problem..
Adjust the volume using the joystick is not much a problem.. but might find it troublesome in future.. but this will not affect the quality and features of this phone..

small expert:
i went to www.nokia.com.sg
i noticed the question mark that says 2-way volume key is on the right side (note that there's eyelet above & infrared port below the question mark).
but in the actual phone there's no volume control on that side.
the picture showing on the right side of the question mark that has a button on it, is a PTT button.
the demo it's not entirely acurate.
if you select front view & move your cursor to the joystick, it says "4-way scroll key" when it's supposed to be a 5-way scroll key just like gsm arena specs.

For shark_20:
I did not said that I bought the phone in Dubai...may be was somebody else.
I was tested N3230 couple of days, from a friend and the phone works ok. The only thing that I complain is battery life.... I am not satisfied..760 is to less.
Probably a better baterry will come with the 3230i. I hope!

correction :
3rd party hardware..
for info.. nokia only has 16-128mb of RS-MMC
if u need more... there is always 3rd party hardware.. go down to sim lim and get one at the lowest price... i recomment kingston memory cards as they are more stable and has warranty

I am about to buy one...
I read about the volume control thingy from the nokia official website...
go find nokia 3230 at www.nokia.com.sg
den click on phone demo.. there says that there is a volume control key on the side of the phone..
Regarding the memory card problem..
the card must hav been corupted when u take in and out of the slot..
but after reformatting on the com, it works.
however... the card have conflicts with ur phone.. since ur phone can read ur friend's ... why not exchange.. or if ur card still has warranty.. u can repair or get a new one...
however, u cannot repair this problem at nokia care using the warranty card... cos it is a 3rd party software which nokia states that they will not be responsible for any damage done to the phone... but nokia can reformat ur phone/ or upgrade the software..
then, ur phone will be able to read the same card again

What brand is your MMC card? It could be a compatibility issue... I've heard some intermitten problems with Kingston RS-MMC card and Nokia's phone. May be you should try to reformat the card with yoru phone? (I hope 3230 has this function)

This phone is sooo cool. i got it a few days ago but i got 1 problem. I got a rc-mmc 256mb and than i insert it in my phone it worked but than i ejected it and inserted it back again becoz i need to change my sim card, the rs-mmc card says file corupted in my phone but i can see all my files using a card reader on my computer. i tried to formet it on the computer and it was ok (no problem). i insert it back to the phone but it still says file corupted n it doesn't allow me to formet. I tried other rs-mmc cards n it worked in my phone without any problem. The 256mb card that says file corrupted worked in my frens 7610 n my frens 256mb worked in my phone. Than is it the phone or card problem???? Thank You For any advice and comment.

I am from Singapore..
anyway... nokia phones are not meant to be used as mp3 players... if u wan quality audio... search for mp3 players( i recomment creative) ... or wait for the Sony Ericsson W800i... which is designed as an mp3 player too..
This phone is value for its price... if u buy though starhub with pland and hubber bonus..
it is only S$298
Tell me a phone with this functions with a cheaper price pls... ( mostly comparing with other nokia phones)
Someone asked about Nokia 6630 and 3230.. u can go to the nokia official website and use the phone comparison function...
But if there are details that are left out..
u can ask me ...

For betlejuice:
2 days and a half for a Simbyan OS.7, is not that bad..plus a very light display!
With my 6630 I charge battery every day...
About the rest, no comment. Each one knows better what is good for him.

The MP3 sound is bad, radio is goo. I've never had the Ngage but the 5510 - and it doesn't even come close to MP3 sound quality. Read my other review for more info.
