I've just bought this phone and my Goodness what problems.First, of all let me give you the good points: Its light (lighter then the 66 series),its great for design and the buttons are fairly functional, however better placement of the menu key could have been made. The radio works great wonderful sound quality and I transferred by bluetooth a music video I had which was fine in terms of quality, visually, as good as the Motorola A835 (the phone I had before-not the best made phone but functional for media and music applications), at this point in the store I am ecstatic with the 3230.But here I did err, these all prove to be a red herring. Sure, I was an idiot to turn down the 14 day money-back guarantee in favour of £50 refer a friend cash back offer. But hey everything had been checked before buying right? WRONG!! First of all the good sound quality is only restricted to the radio (as you can recall I tested). For mp3's, video and everything else its crap - but at the time of the test I assumed that all app's would sound the same, well you know what they say about assumption.... Basically it has a tin-like sound that sounds like you're listening to an old transistor radio - and in fact hurts my ears! The video seems mediocre after much use, but is exponentially amplified to crapness with the bad sound. And this all I discovered after buying on the net a datacable, a 512 MB RS-MMC, an USB reader, and a leather pouch. With my Motorola, everything was included with the package. Granted my Motorola, had problems with the battery, it scratched easily and occasionally would crash (but this was after dropping it numerous times) - at that time I thought he reason I had those problems was my frequent use of the media app's so I was content, but looking for improvement. My goodness was this a step back!I can't see myself using this phone for anything more than the radio. Oh, and the bluetooth is its other saving grace. But there is a catch again, with only 8MB internal (shared) memory, after you take into account messages, contacts, a couple of pics and its very useless Fireplayer, PV Video Player and every other application that is useless because it uses sound, there is literally less than 3MB's left to use.Thats a problem for two reasons:
When using bluetooth transfer to the mobile is to the internal (shared memory) so anything over 3MB is too big. And this means less memory for the phone, so it tends to crash a lot and takes almost a minute to start-up. There are also very noticeable delays when using the menu and a severe delay when using the camera.
And about the camera, quality is again mediocre to pathetic - the Sony Ericsson S700 is miles ahead (but then we are talking about Sony...). Pathetic because in slightly dark situations quality is completely lost (e.g. a cloud covering the sun on a sunny day etc.).Point is the picture quality is not as crisp as most others 1.3 megapixel phones.
Voice dialling on this phone is non-existant I have tried countless times to do this, I have been through the manual and read the help on this function, but to no avail - I just can't understand it! Battery time is fair but definitely not even close to what you would expect. I get at the moment standby time of 2 and half days, with about five short phone calls, using the bluetooth functions and radio.
Honestly I am trying to be positive with this phone because I have bought too many accessories know for this (in my haste), but all I like is its looks and the radio, even supermodels have more going for it than this phone!Well I will try to sell this piece of crap as quickly as possible, any takers for this?? In fact, I'll throw in my left leg to medical research just to take this off from me! Good luck if you have one, bought one, been given one, or found or stolen - because the jokes will be on you - BEWARE!

hey guys!
i just bought my 3230 last week, im here staying here in dubai, anyway. as of now, its really good and doing great!
i just dont like the thing that when i use my phone frequently, i need to charge the battery daily... and besides, the mp3 player is mono, the camera is just 3x zoom, the video player is not on full screen, but the games are great! huhhh!
im really thinking if i should switch my phone to 6630, because, i really love its design, 6x zoom, better internal memory, hot slot for mmc for easy switching, but it doesnt have an mp3 player, infrared port..
so, could you all help me guys, to pick the better one, should i be contented with my 3230 or switch it to 6630, im really hoping that you could help me guys as soon as possible...
if possible, pls do list, all the advantages & disadvantages of 3230 & 6630...
many thanks!

I read about the GSM thingy some where..
cannot recall now..
but it says something about diff countries using diff GSM network... so.. there are diff models...
Take the Sony Ericsson W800 for example..
W800i is for Singapore and some other countries... W800c is for china... cos china uses a diff network

Sean.. it is true that all the models are same.. the only differences is that in diff countries, there are diff frequencies..
so there some diff models to match the diff frequencies...
however, every funcion and hardware is the same... the onli diff is the tri- band thingy

I don understand why Nokia can't give a more detailed technical specification... then.. we don need to discuss and ask all these stupid questions...
i already e-mailed nokia and told them about this.. hope they will improve...
Guys, look at nokia 7710 at the offical website
Nokia should give at least this kind detailed specs..

After reading the French URL below, I realized that it says it has infared using the lower right port of the phone. I guess it's either the European version are different than the Asian version, or the person who did a review was mistaken. Ther eis not infared port for Asian 3230!!!
