its really not so bad to use this phne!!!
i jus have a doubt..
when i download free games from the ovi,install it on my phne...and..from then everytime i start playing the game..it costs something...how should i get the games that i can play free of cost on my phone??plz help me out in this???

Just a matter of personal preference, but I don't like security softwares on mobile devices as long as you're careful with using Bluetooth.

mArk, 15 Feb 2012where did u get the Navifirm?
and how did u update to belle?At the time when I flashed my 500, there were only 4 country variant firmwares available in Navifirm. Today morning, however, I see the upgrade has been release for pretty much every region.
Chances are, you should be able to do the update using Nokia Suite 3.3.86
I flashed mine using Navifirm+ 1.6 and Phoenix

Belle is available in India from today,m updating it right now.just connect the phone to pc through ovi suite and update will be available :)

i am using this useless phone for about last four months and updated it many times.. simply dont bring this phone, it is not worth its money

Another prob is atomatic switch ofing. I cant use more than one apps to browse. It wil mostly switch off when usin ovi store. And nother prob ther is no galery option n the camra is bad. Its battery backup is very bad. And browsin speed is vry vry slow. After buying dis phone m totaly upset. I lost my 10,700 rs for dis phone. And it is very bad phone. I updatd software once but no use. Plz tel solutns for dis n tel me how to improve my phones performance. Thank u for ur first reply.

Sheetal, 14 Feb 2012The cell is been hanged several times pls help in this matt... moreI am assuming you didn't update your firmware even once. Ideally if you're on 11.033, the problems you're reporting should not persist. Please mention the current firmware version.
As for Phone lock, the default code is 12345. You can alter this under Security settings. You can make the phone Auto-Lock itself after certain period of inactivity.

Used the Swiss Country Variant firmware. Everything looks good. Navigating between homescreens to Menu, browsing feels fluid. Overall a great experience.

It seems like the release date of Nokia Belle update for Nokia 500 is very near. Atleast, Navifirm tells us that. As you can see in the screenshot that I posted above, Nokia has already started uploading Nokia Belle v111.20.59 on their servers. Their done with the update for Poland, Switzerland and Croatia as far as I understood seeing the information on Navifirm Plus.
The main reason behind the delay of the Nokia Belle update for Nokia 500 is some different hardware on the phone. It’s an unique blend of 1st gen. and 2nd gen. Symbian^3 phones. With 1GHz Processor, but only with 256MB RAM as seen on Nokia N8 or C7.
It’s just two days ago when Nokia announced that the Belle version which would be released for Nokia 500 will feature only 4 homescreens instead of six and lack some other features due to hardware limitations. I however, couldn’t get why Nokia N8 can handle 6 homescreen pages and Nokia 500 with a much faster processor can’t.
Update :
Apparently, someone went ahead and updated his Nokia 500 to Nokia Belle by flashing it with the navifirm files. He says, “It works perfectly.”

Flashed my Nokia 500 with the Country Variant Switzerland firmware using NaviFirm and Phoenix. Overall the performance is good especially Browsing. Also, like the new theme - Nokia Evolve.
